WSU vs Zona game thread

Remember when we had the Bennetts coaching? Opposing fans would invariably say "we couldn't shoot tonight for some reason!"
There was a reason. It was our defense. Just the way we pressured relentlessly. It was about us. Same tonight. It is Zona defense.
this is a young team and the moment is too big. every time they get close to tying it up they tighten up.
I'm not discounting that, but we have to hit the easy ones, like Zona is doing. Again, hit half the open shots and it's a game.
The first thing he did was go Dame Lillard and shoot from the logo. Could be Coach wasn't fond of his shot selection?
It's is all subjective. But, Kenpom has Arizona at 2, Torvik has them at 4, N.E.T (which is what the committee uses) has them at 2. They are ranked 4th in the coaches pole. I think they have probably earned a top 5 ranking at this time in the season. But, there is still a lot of season and tournament left.
I know. I'm just saying that their guards are good...but not top 5 team good. We will see.

He also can't really create his own shot. That is a big problem. Bamba, on the other hand, can do that. It's a little rough...but still.
ugh. not interested in watching Flowers go 1 for 16 from 3. Just not good basketball.
This is like watching Derrick Low play point guard the year before they got Rochestrie from Tulane
I am not sure it matters. The defense that they play is one of the best in the entire country. Their bigs our outstanding. They pass the ball as well as any team in the country leading to a lot of easy baskets. They are good enough to get to the last eight. Then, all it takes is getting hot for a few games.
Up to this point, I've been pretty pleased with our bigs in this game. Granted Koloko has been on the bench a fair amount. But I'd give them a pretty good grade for their experience level.

No. This Zona team cannot win a natty. They are excellent...but not quite good and deep enough at the guard position. They need more creators.
I do not miss these guys. I get how good UA is but it sounds like a Pac 12 Arizona broadcast.
Not a chance in hell, WSU wins, or gets it close, etc, put in scrubs now. Smith is being as bad as Leach about not knowing when to put the scrubs in.
Wulff was DEFINITELY better in putting the scrubs in. But we also might need AZ to take a knee....
