I am trying to quit posting but idiotic posting by guys trying to obtain their BA and trying to envision a basketball dynasty makes me want to respond.. Perhaps if you guys had at least a Coach Rice for the cougs you would be more secure about speaking about the team?? I should be yesterdays news and am trying to be. As a person of color, this post is infuriating. There are people on here that make, in my opinion, racist remarks from time to time. They seldom realize that they are doing it. But, when you throw out some blanket remark without basis, it lessens the times when there is actual racism.

Once when others have made political comments, that I responded to, I made a comment about Black, People of color, African American(whatever the current politically correct term is now), CAN DO ANYTHING, JUST AS GOOD AS ANY OTHER RACE, in order to make a political point in response to the political comment made by another.

You would think that be a NON racist, thought.

And it wasnt racist.

But some wrongly said it was racist.

I am not racist, and or I try extremely hard not to make racist comments, not be racist. And have lots of friends who are black, hispanic, asian, native american, etc. And I wanted a Black Ben Carson to win the Presidency.

But I was wrongly called a racist, because my comment was not politically correct, and was controversial in disagreement of others political views.

I say seem to lessen, because if someone makes a racist comment, its not less, lessoned, because of others, its still just as bad that the comment was made.

Mik... I am not the arbiter of racial comments . Like 1990 said I have seen some racially insensitive comments on this board. But sometimes it is plain ignorance . When I was in high school in north Seattle many years ago It was like living in Norway . You either had blonde hair, brown or black. We had three black students at our school of 1500. Asian Americans, Native Americans, Mexican Americans did not attend my school.

I moved back to Maryland and discovered any stereotype one could come up with didn’t exist. We had a kid on our football team that was 6 5 built like Adonis and the stereotype of a jock I learned didn’t fit. I got to know him late my senior year because one we didn’t have classes together and two his circle of friends was different than mine . This kid wasn’t a very good football player but was smart enough to get into MIT .

So my education came in my teens about race . For some happens years later so I am hesitant to call someone a racist cause it is hard to know what is in their heart. But if an individuals actions continue to have racist behavior then it must be called out .

Here is what I would say about your original post ... it would be nice to someday not have to say people of color are just as capable as any other race as you had said. It would be nice to be blind to color and sex .
