Jenkins, Jr. is from Tacoma. Considered one of the best transfers this year so there's some company to say the least. Also has said he is considering staying at SDSU.

I am sure that he will look at the style of play as one of his primary considerations. That along with the coaching recored of coaches gettint to the Big Dance

World Dave has always had a liking for Pullman and WSU. Once thought he was coming. Ernie probably scared him off.

New coach Otzelberger at UNLV said he would not take any South Dakota State players with him. Now I suppose he can't stop a kid from following him, but he has, at least, publicly advised all Jackrabbits to stay where they are. That still leaves a lot of impressive programs vying for Jenkins, but this is a list of schools that rarely includes the Cougars. Not a bad sign.

Glad Cougar

I would be shocked if he choose the cougs over the other schools. Hell one can toss their hat in the ring for the top 5 high school kids every year. To get them signed is a far different matter :) Yup lets recruit the fab Five to Pullman every year.the hell with Kentucky and Duke.

Jenkins listed us in his top schools. Something Kent couldn't get him to do.

So I don't do this social media stuff. Is that picture with teams coming from the player? If so, color me turned off. The whole world doesn't revolve around you, kid.

If it is not coming from him, then never mind.
This is the way recruits roll

Guys like Cowgill, Baynes, Weaver, Gump, etc disagree. Granted things have changed since then with social media. But no, we don't need any me, me, me recruits.

It's a good way to keep your DM's from getting flooded with questions from reporters/friends/fans asking where you are thinking of going. Make an announcement, let people go off of that and get on with your life. It even let's other coaches know they've been eliminated from consideration. Previous generations of recruits weren't accessable to the masses the way these kids are.

I'm not a fan of recruits who publicly do the Hamlet routine, but I don't think Jenkins is doing this.

Yes, Ernie was signing them left and right. Why'd we give that up?

Jenkins wants to play in the Big Dance. Smith s teams will most probably never make it during his 6 year contract. The recruiting gurus list UNLV, Gonzaga, Oregon, or UCLA as his likely landing place. The negatives on Western basketball kids playing at WSU is still intact. The chances of Smith landing this kid are zero.

You’re back. Are you willing to bet money that Wsu doesn’t make the Big Dance Within 6 years? I would take that bet.

And Ernie never would with an additional 6. Not saying Smith will or won't but you really need to quit being butt hurt about Kent.

As stated ,David Jenkins will visit Oregon this weekend. He looks to be a strong lean to a good basketball program with strong coaching and excellent facilities. Their coach has taken his team to post season play many times during his career. I see a great chance for a commitment . These kids want post season play with a coach good enough to deliver at crunch time.

So we really didn't have a chance with him even if Kent was the coach?

Going to no doubt get him in for an official visit if there is mutual interest.

Oregon took the verbal of a shooting guard transferring from Duquesne. It would appear Jenkins remains on the market. Perhaps he wasn't sold on Oregon?
