CJ and some other Cougs were playing this weekend in the Jamal Crawford Pro-am in Seattle. CJ is playing for his dad Bill. Had a 38 pt 12 rb game. These games tend to be all offense with scores in the 130's (Tony Wroten and T. Isabell both had games scoring in the 40's).

Sounds like Bill was impressed with the play of Jervae Robinson. Also looks like CJ has been hitting the weight room, definitely put some muscle on his arms.

Yep. And having CJ, Jervae, as well as Noah all playing in front of the crowd doesn't hurt a bit for WSU

There's a pic of Tremaine Isabelle. Which poster here was Isabelle's biggest fan back in the day? I recall a prediction Isabelle would be in the NBA after his freshman year.

Isabell's problems were, was that his POOR ACADEMICS, and BAD ATTITUDE, etc, PISSED HIS ON PAPER POTENTIAL DOWN. TIOLET.

A player like him dominating PRO AMS, consistently dominating NBA PRO's

Playing, dominating NBA summer amateur D League

Dominating the best NBA AAU, HS FACTORIES like the OAKLAND SOLDIERS.

Either a All American, or Nominated AA

Only reason why a 4 star, iinstead of 5 star was academics, bad attitude, late bloomer.

Was ranked about 33 to 100 in nation depending on the various rankers.

Averaged 20 ppg, scored about 40 ppg, semi regularly against the best of best competition..

Was pretty much on the various ALL TEAMS awards, accolades, etc.

He was NBA LIKE FREAKISH ATHLETICISM, Talent, Skill, etc.

MENTORED, TRAINED BY A LOT OF NBA PLAYERS

Going by ALL that, ON PAPER, its realistic to think such a player would probably be a NBA player someday.

Kent kicked him off team(Not because of a supposed lack of playing ability.)

He eventually averaged about 25 ppg, at a midmajor, a lot like Akognan.

If he hadnt pissed away talent, etc, would probably have played in NBA.

That does not invalidate the right to make the right NBA prediction, based off of ON PAPER potential

After clicking on the twitter links, and reading the tweets, a lot of CREDIBLE . people associated with the PRO AM think that WSU will have a good 2019--2020 season this coming season

It’s to bad Isabelle didn’t work out at WSU but not sure he flushed his talent down the toilet. He graduated college and played his way into a professional career, wish it had been at WSU but he had a respectable collegiate career.

If you claim someone is a one and done talent before they set foot on a college campus, odds are you get disappointed. Most people would admit they got over carried away and laugh it off. But a select few get angry at the player for not meeting their insane expectations.

Ok maybe down the tiolet is to far, to much, but probably not by much.

Yes he did graduate college, and played semi pro NON NBA Career.

But he for about 1 an 1/2 to 2 years to 2 an 1/2 years, Isabell went from podunk college to podunk college, 2,3,4 colleges, where he averaged only about between about 7 to 13 ppg. His only great year, was his Akognan like 25 ppg at a Mid Major.

And he either didnt play NBA, or if he did make NBA, it would have been just barely for 1 year.

Compare that to what he should have done.

What should have done:

College Years:

Year 1: 13 to 16 to 19 ppg

Year 2: 16 to 19 to 22 ppg

Year 3: 19 to 22 to 25 ppg

Year 4: 22 to 25 to 28 ppg

At either a good P5, or a great Mid Major or at WSU.

Isabell was further along in, coming out of Highschool, more of everything going for him in, coming out of Highschool, going into College then KLAY THOMPSON did in, coming out of highschool, going into college.

Isabell should have been able to achieve getting drafted mid way thru last pick of 1st round of NBA draft, to top pick of 2nd round of NBA draft, bottom of 2nd round at worst.

Isabell was better then a similar guard named Nick Van Excel, who was drafted at bottom of 2nd Round of NBA draft, and went on to have a awesome career with the Lakers.

And at Ultimate Worst, he Isabell should have been a signed undrafted Free Agent, that shpuld have had a Sedale Threat, Nick Van Excel like, Journeyman, Moderate, 6th man, instant offense off bench, 13 to 26 minutes per game, 8 to 15 ppg, 2.5 to 5 to 7.5 million per year, 4 to 7 years in NBA type of NBA Career.

Thats the kind of POTENTIAL Isabell had ON PAPER

And because of that he Isabell UNDERACHIEVED.

I didnt get carried away. Isabell was better then KLAY THOMPSON ON PAPER COMING OUT OF HIGHSCHOOL, GOING INTO COLLEGE.

Reread what I said about Isabell's ON PAPER CREDENTIALS.

A player like that can be a one and done.

And if not, can, maybe almost should, can leave after his 3rd year as a Junior, get drafted.

And if not that, SHOULD be able to get drafted ABOUT 15th pick to last pick in 1st round of NBA draft, to top pick of 2nd round to bottom of 2nd Round at worst, after his Senior year in college.

And at extreme ULTIMATE WORST SHOULD HAVE been able to be a SIGNED Undrafted Free Agent after his senior year, and then have gone on to be a Journeyman, 6th man off bench, instant offense, 7 to 13 ppg, 13 to 26 minutes per game, 4 to 7 years in NBA, 2 million to 4 million to 6 million per year, NBA Career, after his Senior year in college.

That was Isabell's EXTREMELY REALISTIC ON PAPER POTENTIAL Coming out of of highschool, going into college.

Take OJ Mayo. OJ Mayo had pretty much the same Resume, Potential as Isabell, etc, except EVERYONE SAID THAT MAYO WAS GOING TO BE A ONE AND DONE.

Now if WSU had gotten OJ Mayo. And if I, others, were to be the ONLY ONES that was making NBA predictions about(If WSU got Mayo), Mayo, and If Mayo had done what Isabell had done or not done(getting kicked off team, only scoring between about 7 to 13 points, going to 2,3,4 colleges, scoring 25 ppg at a mid major, then not making NBA, and if I, others had then said that Mayo had underachieved in not making the NBA, etc, that would have been legit for me, others to do, say that.

Likewise its the same type of kind of thing with Isabell.

Isabell should have achieved, done better in College. Isabell should have achieved getting to, playing in the NBA, based off of his ON PAPER POTENTIAL.

ISABELL UNDERACHIEVED IN NOT DOING BETTER IN COLLEGE, NOT MAKING, PLAYING IN NBA, BASED ON HIS ON PAPER POTENTIAL.

If Isabell was near the talent OJ Mayo was he would have been one and done. All they care about in the NBA is talent. I don't care if Isabell dominated as a high schooler, all it means is he hit his ceiling earlier than someone like Klay Thompson.

Apparently you EITHER DID NOT READ OR UNDERSTAND, because was not just dominating local low competition higherschoolers, as you seem to imply.

1. Isabell DOMINATED NBA PRO AMS LIKE THE JAMAL CRAWFORD PRO AMS.

At the events CURRENT NBA PLAYERS, play the BEST OF THE BEST COLLEGE, HIGHSCHOOL PLAYERS.

2. ISABELL SCORED ABOUT 40 POINTS, DIRECTLY AGAINST NBA ALL STAR PLAYERS.

NOTE HE DID, SCORED, OUTSCORED, DOMINATED BETTER THENTHE FORMER 5 STAR, NBA PRO TONY WROTEN.

3. NOT EVEN OJ MAYO DID AS GOOD AS ISABELL VS NBA PROS AT NBA PRO AMS.

4. Isabel played in the OFFICIAL NBA SUMMER AMATEUR SEMI PRO D LEAGUE.

FOR CLARIFICATION ON WHAT THAT IS:

Its not the NBA D League. Its LIKE a special NBA created, sponsored NBA D League LIKE thing where there are about 10 to 15 to 20 teams, with the BEST OF THE BEST COLLEGE, HIGHSCHOOL, FORMER NBA PLAYERS, in order to PREPARE, DEVELOP NBA PLAYERS. They dont get paid. OJ Mayo either wasnt in that league, or I didnt hear of OJ Mayo in that league.

This was a new experimental thing. I remember reading it, about it in the Seattle Times, LA Times, internet, etc. I copied, pasted it from the source I found it on WSU Watch/Cougzone(Where it probably got ignored, not remembered, etc).

5. Isabell was mentored, trained by 3,4,5 NBA PROS, 1,2 of which were, was NBA All Stars, one of which was JAMAL CRAWFORD.

Players usually doesnt get mentored, trained by NBA players, unless the NBA players think that the player has the potential to make it to the NBA, etc.

This is also why OJ Mayo was also mentored, trained by NBA Pros, just like with Isabell, and how Isabell was mentored, trained by NBA Pros.

6. Isabell got invited by GARY PAYTON, NBA PRO TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GARY PAYTON ALL STAR GAME, with the BEST OF THE BEST highschool, AAU players, future college, NBA, players. All of the players are highest ended 4 stars, 5 stars. Its a EXTREMELY PRESTIGOUS.

7. Isabell DOMINATED THE BEST OF THE BEST AAU TEAMS IN THE USA, WORLD, LIKE THE OAKLAND SOLDIERS.

Oakland Soldiers is a AAU team FACTORY that regularly produces 4,5 star, college, NBA players, etc. Its hard enough to get on the team. Its even harder to beat them, and almost impossible, improbable to DOMINATE them, drop about 23, 25,30,35,40 points against them like Isabell did.

8. Isabell was ranked about between the 33rd to 100th best player in the USA according to some rankers

9. Isabell DOMINATED the BEST OF BEAT HIGHSCHOOLS, HIGHSCHOOL PLAYERS IN THE USA.

A EXAMPLE OF THIS IS WHEN HE ISABELL SCORED ABOUT 47 POINTS AGAINST 1 OF THE TOP 1,2,3 Highschools in USA that later after the game against Isabell went on to play in about Highschool National Championship playoff Tournament, or Finished that high(At least rhats what I saw, remember from a source)

Isabell scored that 47 points against that highschool in a special 4 highschool tournanent in Nevada invite.

So this is not like the 6 8 ephrata kid that scored about 50 to 73. What Isabell did was heck of a lot better then that because 47 altho less points, then the Ephrata kid, WAS VERY CLOSE AGAINST WAY THE HELL BETTER COMPETITION.

10. Isabell Won pretty much most of, almost all the awards, accolades like ALL STATE, ALL CONFERENCE, PLAYER OF YEAR, ALL AMERICAN, ETC

11. Isabell scored about 23 ppg, and semi regularly about 30,35,40 points on a semi regular basis against EVERYBODY, whether highschool, AAU, NBA players, NBA Summer D League, etc.

Now its not just 1 of these things that SHOULD SHOW, MEAN THAT SHOULD GOTO NBA.

ITS ALL OF THE ABOVE COMBINED, CUMULATED, TOGETHER, ETC.

ABOUT THE ONLY TYPE OF PLAYERS THAT HAS DONE AS MUCH PRE COLLEGE, AS ISABELL, IS ONE AND DONE TYPE, OJ MAYO TYPE OF PLAYERS.

ANY PLAYER LIKE THAT, THAT DOES THAT MUCH PRE COLLEGE, SHOULD BE A FUTURE NBA PLAYER.

AND ANY PLAYER THAT HAS DONE ALL THAT PRE COLLEGE, THAT FAILS TO BECOME A NBA PLAYER IS PRETTY MUCH UNDER ACHIEVING.

And the reason why Isabell didnt get to the NBA was his Academics, which made it so that he had to jump from small college to snall college, not get BEST practice, not get to play against better, best competition, NOT GET DEVELOPED.

And the other reason was his Isabell's PISS ASS POOR BAD ATTITUDE, that like his bad academics, kept him jumping from smaller college to college, not getting BEST practice, against better, best competition, NOT GETTING DEVELOPED, ETC

Thats why Isabell didnt make it to NBA.

NOT A SUPPOSED LACK OF NBA LIKE/BEST COLLEGE LIKE TALENT, SKILL, ATHLETICISM, POTENTIAL, ETC, PRE COLLEGE TALENT, SKILL, ATHLETICISM, POTENTIAL,ETC

Sorry to hijack the Isabell thread but I’m pretty stoked to see how CJ has improved this past offseason. It certainly appears he’s been putting in the work. Hope he sticks at WSU for at least 3 years.

I'd love for Elleby to stick around, but I think the pros will be calling his name soon enough.

Way to keep it concise. ;-)
