Espn and Fox went after Oregon and Washington to kill Apple deal

Supposedly there were BIG presidents that didn’t want to kill off the PAC. Once Arizona officially applied for the B12 the Wednesday before Black Friday they no longer felt they’d be delivering the kill shot so they were willing to expand.

There are several B1G presidents that never wanted to accept Nebraska, Rutgers, or Maryland a decade ago. First thing is Nebraska was a fringe AAU member that didn't meet the academic standards, as they have since lost that status. They are the only B1G member without AAU status, they did have it when they joined.

Schools like Iowa, Purdue, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, didn't want to add Rutgers, or Maryland. They go years without playing Ohio State, Michigan, or Penn State at home. Those are the games most of their fans want to see.

Kevin Warren was the one who got the USC, UCLA deal done. That was an even bigger shock than what the SEC did with Texas and Oklahoma .He's an NFL guy, he just saw television money, even more so than Delaney. He is now in Chicago with the Bears. He doesn't have to sort out all the future schedules. Now you have four west coast team? So Iowa won't get another home game against Ohio State for ten years?

Sure it'll be cool to go to L.A, Seattle, or Eugene for the first time. But once that newness rubs off, it's another non traditional B1G team that isn't Ohio State or Michigan. Heck they still moan about Penn State not being a true original member. Now you have 8 non traditional members.

I don't think Ohio State or Michigan care. But the other original ten do. Now imagine the inevitable day that they go to 20 teams. Even Delaney said once you go to 16, it isn't even a conference anymore. Oh well. In five years we'll be settled in to this.
