I think DeSantis is pretty much a loon too, but what he says here is 100% true - most of the online "news" sources, including the "experts" on X - are just throwing out outrageous statements to generate clicks and revenue.

All you need to do is write a headline that makes people go "WTF?" and click on it. It's even easier if you just write headlines that align with what people already think.
