I want us to get someone who will give his soul to WSU. Time to hire Coach Robb Akey

We need to take our time with this hire. Finding the right fit is important.
It doesn't matter. Name any employee that would turn down a 5x, 10x, 20x increase in their salary, even if you have to move across the country? Hell, I've been at the same company for about 20 years. I'm paid well, enjoy my work, great benefts, and have 5+ weeks a year of vacation on top of a highly flexibly work schedule. If someone came to me and offered me 2x my current salary, I probably wouldn't move (especially if I had to be in a big city). But I damn sure would for 5x. I could suffer even in the slums of South Central for that kind of money for 5 or so years.

Fit doesn't matter. As soon as they are successful, they will be gone as well. The only way we get someone the come and stay is if they are mediocre. They win just enough to keep the fans from grumbling too much, but not enough to attract the attention of bigger schools. No matter how you slice it, we are doomed to mediocrity, with the occasional splash of success every 5-10 years.

There was at least one prominent poster who wanted Coach Dickert fired when the Cougs were 8-1 and Top 20 in the country.

WSU has been too successful in recent years for many fans to accept a "mediocre" coach
