KJ Costello

I didn't mean that WSU should consider him, we shouldn't; but it's probably not a great thing for Stanford.

On a more positive note for Stanford, they did sign Emmit Smith's son, who is a well regarded running back. Turned down Ohio State, Georgia, and some other heavy hitting programs for the Cardinal.

Shaw is cleaning house. He's got a bunch of deadwood on the roster and his program is trending down. His offense has been terrible for going on three years.

Mills is good. Way better than Costello.

Costello put in his time and did his best. I hope he ends up somewhere (probably FCS) where he can start.

I agree with Gib; Mills is much better. But with the OL that Stanford has had for the past couple of seasons, you need at least 2 QB's who can play. Stanford is already thin at QB and is even more thin with Costello leaving. Not hard to envision a zero experience kid at QB at some point next season for Stanford.

Sounds like Stanford needs to be looking at QB's who have signed up for the transfer portal. ;)

Stanfords backup who played against WSU was a lot better than Costello in my opinion. He made some ridiculous throws against WSU. He was going to get beat out.

He's clearly not going to the NFL, so why not get that degree from Stanford? I know some who say a degree is a degree. But a degree from Stanford certainly has more oomph than that degree from Sam Houston State or Tennessee Tech. Then again, maybe he goes to Penn or Harvard.

He's already got the Stanford degree, apparently. ESPN reported that he's a graduate transfer.

It appears that Stanford’s KJ Costello has entered the transfer portal.
Here's a kid who lost his job to a frosh who's made hay heaving 50/50 balls to a NFL WR.

This idiot is walking away from a Stanford education so he can possibly get a starting job, more then likely at a non-p5 school.

KJ will certainly be drafted. I haven't seen anything from him but Shaw has been slowly killing all semblance of an offense.

Shaw is half the problem. He plays not to lose which they were good enough to get away with until recently. Now you can’t play smashmouth AND you play like you’re protecting a lead when you’re down?
