Leach's Monday Press conference

I'm seriously going to get my butt kicked at the Rutgers tailgate by a gaggle of Rutgers fans over this thread!

Thanks a lot Go Cougs!

They don't teach you how to read or analyze at Rutgers? About what I would expect from a state university that is too ashamed to name itself after said state.
wow, this board is truly full of morons, huh?

rutgers university existed before the state of new jersey did. in fact, before the united states of america did. after the US fought for independence, the university was renamed from queen's college to reflect the generosity of colonel henry rutgers, a revolutionary war hero. if you think that is a product of being "ashamed" - you have a lot of growing up to do.

as for reading or analyzing... the facts are self-explanatory.

If you read the facts you would see that tickets and citations are counted as arrests on that website, so clearly you need a little help with that.

Personally, I have nothing but sympathy for Rutgers' travails. The Flood email commotion borders on silly. The recent arrests are more problematic. They have been booted and that's that. I do think that Flood and staff need to lay down the law a bit more. But as pointed out....glass houses. The number of our arrests is embarrassing and people not familiar with the situation easily reach the wrong conclusion. As indicated most were minor infractions- minor in possession, minor in a bar, traffic violations on down to excessive noise complaints. No rapes, robberies or other serious crimes. The worst case involved a couple of bozos running a grow operation in their basement. Even they were not Leach recruits and he quickly booted the pair. Mostly college kids doing what college kids do. But still embarrassing.

Flood should be fine. Maybe a verbal reprimand or likewise. I wish him well- he seems to be a decent guy. His job security will depend on the field results not some silly email issue.

You Rutgers guys need to ignore the insults and sniping. Sorry about that but as someone mentioned, we are a bit testy and sensitive at this time. Losing to an FCS team at your own house will do that.

And what's up with the gambling odds? You win by 50, we stink the place up and the edge goes down? Weird.

Anyway, good luck and best wishes to you. Hoping for a good game this Saturday with no injuries.

Having lived in Spokane for 3 years I have to chime in to this extent and respond to the Newark critic. There are way more better restaurants in Newark than there are in Spokane and for that matter the entire Inland Empire. Welcome to Coug fans traveling to NJ to see the game. You might consider taking a train from New Brunswick to Newark and stroll from the station to the Ironbound section for a Portuguese/Spanish dinner. I retired to Florida and see only about 5-6 games a year now but made it a point to to make this one (also last year's game in Seattle).

Not sure why 96 is being so rude. Except we are all feeling frustrated. I have nothing against RU. Never even been to New Jersey (or old Jersey for that matter). I did fly through Newark on the way to Madrid a few years ago. Hated that airport. TSA was more horrible than usual.

Bragging about Belleville or Nutley isn't helping your case.

Nothing against Washington State at all. I just want to say that Nutley is a really great town. I've never seen a community with more town pride. Yes, it's working class. So what? Hard working decent people make it a great place for anyone to live...and their Italian bakeries are the best.

After you hit ignore on that 1 troll this thread is bearable.

Wazzu fans, just read the story about Leach needing to limit the QB's options. How does this affect the air raid offense? Are we going to see a similar offense to last year?

ABC News: Arrests at Rutgers just the latest in a long list of problems for the Scarlet Knights.

(I did not write that headline nor contribute to this national story.)

"...The university, which joined the Big Ten in 2012, has been the subject of an ever-lengthening list of bad and bizarre news for more than a decade, making the school an easy punch line and the athletics department appear as a rudderless ship...."

96, you are truly a delusional little boy, led by the nose ring, frustrated, unhappy loner aren't you!? At least do a little research before you make extremely outlandish falsehoods regarding anything! How sad it must be, to be you. I know you are not following your team east, because mommy won't give up her hard earned cash to fund the quest. But, don't worry the "National media" will keep you informed. Don't be too alarmed if the result is another spanking at the hands of the Rutgers University of New Jersey located in New Brunswick, NJ, which is 40 minutes away as the crow flies from Newark. And, btw ... Revolutionary War hero and philanthropist, Colonel Henry Rutgers (1745–1830), early benefactor and namesake of Rutgers University is one of the many reasons that you currently enjoy democracy in this great land. But, of course you would not know anything as relevant as that, because it would require this little thing we call, education.
So, keep on with the many delusional post on the many websites you may visit, continue the ignorance of those many post, and then go back home to mommy, and tell her how smart you were today. Pathetic!
Now, I will hit the "ignore" button, and obliterate what little prestige you think you have! And, I will be left with "educated" posters from WSU who actually are a great bunch of fans.

Wow, you seem awfully butt hurt by a long standing joke about your university. You may want to stop taking the internet so seriously.

Make no mistake, Rutgers will win on Saturday going away. We have a team and coaching staff full of chumps that don't care about winning and losing. We'll get to hear a list of excuses on Sunday that include weather, air travel, game time, or whatever else they can come up with. We expect that at this point.

But that doesn't change the fact that Rutgers football program is currently in a state of disarray.
Sorry, but you are just plain wrong, we are ready to go! I hope all the Washington State fans have a good time in NJ. It's a nice place to visit, tailgate and see a game. And, it's on the banks of the Old Raritan in the great little City of New Brunswick (not Newark). Welcome!

A few bad stories and others not much worth mentioning. Could probably go back a decade at most schools and dig up some of the same type stuff and a lot worse (hello Penn State...!).

That does not mean we aren't embarrassed by some of the worst things going on, but ABC could find better (worse actually) at a few dozen other schools. Our biggest problem is our local media beat writers for nj.com. They are often out to dig up controversy on our dear old Rutgers. And when there is a little blood in the water, cue the theme song to Jaws! The RU fan base is at war with them as is our Athletic Dept because they write with such anti-RU bias it's tiring. Some of you guys are touchy because of the PSU loss. Some of our guys are touchy because of this past few weeks of neg press....and losing several starters that caused some of it...

Anyway, enough of my rambling! Safe travel to those of you coming out to NJ, which by the way, is a beautiful state...mostly. As a native Texan, I was blown away by the Garden State when I first saw it. I live here surrounded by farms and forest (Ok, not forests like out west, but...). It's actually nice -- even with people around who talk like "basically youse guys don't know nuthin" if you know what I mean... It ain't Washington State--which has breathtaking landscape, but it's got a lot of beauty.

Hoping for a good game with NO injuries for both teams! Let's play ball!

1st time i ever heard a sarcastic word against Nutley whose commissioner is a childhood friend and classmate in Belleville.. Steve Rogers whose a friend of Sean Hannity and always on Foxnews.
