I’ve got no problem with it, my only suggestion is a code word that the OP can throw into the topic when the thread goes to shit. Sometimes I participate and sometimes I don’t, ultimately it’s my choice. Only time it gets annoying is when the topic is something football I want to chime in on then there’s 6 pages of nonsense after the first couple of posts on the topic. There’s certain posters here (you know who you are) that can turn literally any topic into a political crap fest.

I long for the days when news reporters/anchors simply brought us the news. Walter Cronkite, etc. You could trust them to just bring you the facts. Even CNN, who I typically frequent (the website, I don't watch live news), Is just into all these opinion pieces and try to create "news" with their mouths.
I had a boss many years ago - she would critique my draft memos, etc. by saying "don't editorialize". Sage wisdom. She's dead now. Lung cancer at 61, she didn't even smoke.

3 of 5 major news networks have the Carlson news front and center. ABC has it just below the "fold" (at least on my screen). Fox....doesn't have it at all.
CNN has it as their top story, in large font, with a long article and multiple sub-articles.
4 networks also have the Lemon story - also front page, but in much smaller text and shorter stories. Fox has the Lemon story on their "trending" ticker, and well down the page...presented as Trump's response to his firing.
We'll know where they both resurface based on the appearance of the layer of slime.

Britton didn't rename this site. I forget his name, but it was the person who was before Britton. That guy was an attorney, and this was his side gig for a while. He had to change the name because Rivals didn't own the name Cougzone.

No, not Pat. I think Pat actually owns the name Cougzone along with Tony. Pat quit, but Tony kept on writing for a few years more. There was a guy after Tony that was only here a few months and like Pat, was an attorney. He left, then Britton took over. Britton left and Scott Hood took over. Scott left last July, and I do not believe anyone is the "Moderator" now. But, there are people that write articles about WSU sports.

Bill O Reilly was kinda like a Bill Maher in that he was a a semi conservative, semi moderate, semi rhino, semi centrist, semi constitutionalist, who didn't stick to party guns, that told it like it is, had a NO SPIN ZONE, that was very factual, and LOGICAL, etc. He could out debate, win debates, prove his points against anyone, not by being full of hot air, or by yelling over people, or by throwing fits, etc, but by accurately, logically talking about the facts, logic, and what they logically mean, in a NO SPIN manner.
Bill O Reilly didn't piss off his boss. The only people that got pissed off at Bill O Reilly were extreme LIBTARDS, or that that have been brainwashed by the narrative to think the worst about Bill O Reilly.

Scott Hood was hot garbage.
He allowed all kinds of personal attacks and doxing to take place. Notice how much more peaceful the site is since Yaki left. It isn't perfect, and there are still squables...but nowhere near the level it was when Hood was here and allowed Yaki to run amok.
There are certain bad actors on here that will turn any and every thread political if the opportunity arises. And there are certain other weak minded posters who simply can't refuse the bait. Die Hard Cougs on Facebook is considered Brand Z, but I haven't visited there lately. It used to get a lot of site traffic at one time — and the fans were VERY passionate and outspoken about WSU.
I still like Brand X, but I never understood why they seemed to have it out for Coach Leach. I don't know if it was his political leanings or his prickly personality with the media, but there was a real disconnect between Coach and Brand X management during his last few years in Pullman.

He and I had a differing opinion on Paul wulff and what I believed was time needed to rebuild a roster that did not have a long term solution at qb when he took over from Doba . I believed wsu and their budget would have been able to only get another assistant coach to take over for wulff if he wasn’t allowed to finish the rebuild . He didn’t like my opinion .
My mistake was back when Doba went into the AD’s office back in 2007 I had someone in Pullman telling me what happened before it was disclosed . I didn’t want to be the person who disclosed Doba was leaving but Yaki wanted me to email him . I never got his name, but he got mine .
And when we started to disagree he did what bully’s do, try to hold the fact he knew who I was over my head.
I went to Scott hood and told hood to get a hold of Yaki and tell him to quit doxing me but more important my family . What prompted me to do that is he went to the company website and he disclosed a coworkers name to this site . The problem I had with it is that it was a woman who had zero to do with this board or our discussions . I have zero idea what a loon like that is capable of. But when he wrote “so and so is hot” but used her correct name I contacted hood to tell him to stop.
There were two issues . One he wasn’t smart enough to know. The first issue was this woman was going through a tough time in her life, getting a divorce. Again, her name should never had been disclosed.
Second, my wife was also on the company website as we worked together . Fortunately my wife because of business reasons goes by her maiden name when it comes to work .
Hood I guess threatened to ban him . I never requested he get banned.
Even prior to hood I requested MI Coug to tell Yaki to play by the board rules . Again, I never asked MI to ban him . I think he was banned for a month.
Then the final straw is when i login in and my 14 year old daughter name is on the board and also my street name . I then set out to find out who he was . I kind of remembered an AOL account, or at least part of it . I finally hit gold and discovered his name.
For a week I made reference to things in his life, and he knew at that point I knew who he was . I was never going to publish his name although he did my 15-20 times .
He thought I obtained his name illegally. Again, I didn’t know positively who he was until he threatened to call the police as he thought I somehow hacked something to get his name . Nothing sinister at all .
So probably a simpler answer is my views on a rebuild in Pullman and how long it takes .

I know who he is and since I live in Yakima now I've thought about paying the little weasel a visit - but I don't want to go to prison, and I'm too pretty to go to there so I won't. And Scott Hood let it go on and on - then ended up banning me! I spent about 5 years lurking before coming back. I'm still banned under my original handle.
It really isn't that hard to avoid spilling the beans about someone's real name. Even though a lot of folks would know mine since I used to post info as the Pierce County Cougar Club president, I have been careful to never post anyone else's real name. I have almost slipped up a couple times with you, but always caught myself as I started to type it in. I have probably known close to a dozen folks that have posted here and on Brand X without ever letting the cat out of the bag. Just pay attention and you will be okay.
It takes bad intentions to do the crap that Yaki did, no excuses for that stuff.

Just as bad, there were several posters who verbally said that there was nothing wrong with that. So you can see why we would not want personal info getting out on this board.

The scary part was is this guy is a teacher in the public school system. The fact someone like that is around kids is a scary prospect.
