Missiles into Russia

Is it possible that both Europe and Pacific regions are important? Or just like everything else, are MAGA supporters incapable of processing more than one idea at a time?
Do you understand the concept of priorities? Advanced microchips are more important to the US economy than champagne.

And you’re obviously clueless regarding our military readiness. We quit the two theater major war model years ago. We don’t have the personnel or equipment for world police. But, yeah, let’s relive the Cold War while China is preparing to invade Taiwan and seizing territory in the South China Sea. Even your buddy Barry figured out the pivot to Asia 12 years ago.

Oh thought we were talking about the deep state.. all these folks against Agent Orange and John Gotti
Well, this is another example of you not knowing what you're talking about.

If you want to change topics, what you think of Joe and Mika's trip to Mar-A-Lago?

No we can stay on topic everyone has it out for agent orange and he hasn't brought any of this on himself.... he is the victim.

Dems have tons of problems but you dont see them circling the wagons around Senator "Goldmart" from Jersey . "Oh someone planted the bricks . It sure seems easier to say Forrest Trump more than straddles the fence and pushes the envelope on everything like a mob boss... sometimes he gets caught . Like Capone .. Tax evasion

But if you say he didnt keep the documents on Florida, he just had boxes that looked like classified documents. He didnt participate in the electors scheme it was Barons high school project ....

If you don't think there was a coordinated effort to take him down simply for political reasons, then you are a clueless, unserious person.
Haha. Facts matter. He’s literally a convicted felon who was also found liable for sexual assault of EJC. And countless associates of his including his fixer got nipped. Not serious was too nice, you are a fuggin moron. And I would venture to guess a whiny ass “I’m a victim” of a human just like your hero.

We can talk about that or why some people think coming across as an arrogant prick is a good thing .

You know how I feel about that trip...

Stretch....the reason that it is so hard to take the MAGA crowd seriously is your complete blindness to the hypocrisy of claiming that Trump is a victim.

MAGA spent most of 2016 yelling, "LOCK HER UP" about Clinton and her fuggin' emails. Trump gets busted accidentally using his phone a couple months into his presidency and you suddenly don't give a sh!t about emails on phones. The timing of the release of information right before the 2016 election was 100% politically motivated. I think Clinton would have been almost as bad of a President as Trump...so I don't care that she lost...but still.

Then, y'all spent years trying to suggest that Joe Biden was compromised and doing illegal things because his son got money from Ukraine and trying to weaponize the DOJ to go after Biden. Trump's kid gets $2 billion from Saudi Arabia and suddenly you don't think it's a big deal for the son of a President to be getting money from a foreign power or their associates.

As soon as Trump is in office, he's going to weaponize the DOJ and you are going to say that it's ok because it was weaponized against him. If you had actual morals and ethics rather than chapped lips from sucking on Trump's cock, you'd say that it was wrong and that no matter what, you don't use government resources to target political opponents for personal gain. However, you won't do that and you'll be all in on weaponizing the DOJ.

So please....take your fake ass outrage and share it with your circle jerk companions that buy into that bullshit.
So you deny that Trump is a victim? Not a victim when the WA Post has a headline the day after the election that says that Impeachment Starts Now? That he has to fight three different lawsuits from prosecutors that run on a platform of "Getting Trump" and then inventing a crime after words? He isn't a victim when his campaign was spied on by the DOJ? He has been attacked and beaten up every step of the way by the deep state and DOJ and MSM and Dems and you, all of whom have been butthurt every since the annointed one was outworked in the 2016 election.

And you are totally wrong about the emails. The phones were NOT the issue at all. Sure, Hillary and many others used personal phones at times to do government business. Maybe even Trump and other R's did also. Hopefully they all were careful to not do classified business though, but they probably didn't. The issue with her emails, where she actually BROKE THE LAW was when she set up her own private server and routed all her emails through that private server, which almost certainly was hacked by hostile foreign actors. PLUS, she then destroyed evidence and refused to cooperate with the investigation. Where was the obstruction of justice charge for her?

BTW, are you saying that the release of the email info was intended to politically intended to harm her? Do I need to remind you that it was Barry Obama that was in charge of that agency?

Still waiting for any charges to be brought against Biden (oops, too old and feeble for that) and Kushner, so I guess everything is on the up and up. As for the rest of the bullshit there, when you have to resort to saying I am sucking someone's cock, I simply consider that as a strong indication that you are losing the argument and have nothing of consequence to contribute.

So was he a victim when he sexually assaulted women ? He withheld aid to ukraine for dirt on Biden . You name ut Don Gotti did it .

HAHAHAHAHA! Yes, facts DO matter, and the fact is that Trump is NOT actually a convicted felon, and is also highly unlikely to ever be one. You see, words and laws have actual meanings/definitions. You can count on this jury verdict to be overturned on appeal. Meanwhile, to prove my point I went with the first left wing source that came up on my search.

And of course you are are absolutely wrong with your guess. As usual. I am not a victim at all. I was born in the USA, went to WSU, worked hard and made a good life for myself. As a conservative sort with a libertarian bent, I am pretty happy with life in general and I expect it to be better as Orange Man Bad gets into office and takes steps to clean up a lot of things that are wrong in our country.

Geezus Christ you guys (not just you Stretch). Are you ever going to give it a rest? You just keep bickering over shit that did or didn't happen in 2016 and before. Who gives a F- as we go into 2025? In 3 competing political threads?

How about, if "we" (not me, I'm innocent) want to talk politics, we talk about what is happening - like - now? Gaetz first being selected and now withdrawing is pretty relevant as well as pleasantly surprising to me. Hegseth, Tulsi, McMahon Cabinet selections are all worth discussion. As are lots of things GOING FORWARD.

As far as I'm concerned, servers, laptops, cell phones, even dueling boxes of documents are over with and don't mean shit to my life. I think I will start a thread titled CURRENT political issues. Probably will get no traffic, but hey a guy has to try.

Now you are just being stupid. And being very naïve if you buy into the story told by the broad in NY or the one that puked out the lies about Kavanaugh. Neither one of them had any corroborating evidence or believability.

If you could somehow cure those guys of their Trump Derangement Syndrome perhaps we could move ahead.

Of course, now that Trump won the election in 2024 he will now be end up being attacked and sabotaged even more than he was previously.

Oh brother. Gossip Columnist Nikki Swift is your ace legal reference? And potato, pahtato.

I'll ask our resident legal expert (calling Gibby) to opine on the specifics of the law here. I will offer my layman's opinion:
  • A guilty verdict by a jury = Convicted
  • "Overturning", to quote Stretch = "overturning a conviction"
Now, I am confused. Can the current judge and/or prosecutors ignore a jury and dismiss a case after the fact? That's the term the Trumpers are using. Similarly, can a judge "overturn" a conviction in his own court case?

IMHO, the judge should just quit putting this sentencing off. Just come out and say "hey, given the current (pending) circumstances, I am imposing no sentence. Then walk away. If Trump, etc. want to pursue the conviction up the court chain, fine. Let them. None of it matters anymore.

Stretch only recognizes the authority of the Court of the Unified Reich.

You are not understanding the situation. A guilty verdict as determined by the jury is NOT equal to a conviction. A person is not considered to be "convicted" under the law until the sentence is pronounced. Since the judge has not yet pronounced a sentence, he is not officially convicted.

At any time during a trial a judge can dismiss a case for cause. I have heard of cases where a judge determines on his/her own to throw out a jury verdict, not sure what rules apply in a situation like that.

As to whether the judge can overturn a conviction in his own case, I am not sure on that. Again, with a conviction only being after a sentence is determined, does the judge lose the ability to modify his/her sentence or the jury verdict? Don't know.

Some learned attorneys such as Alan Dershowitz, Jonathan Turley, Andy McCarthy and others have stated that there are many reasons for this verdict to be thrown out on appeal due to bias and errors in law by the judge. My opinion is that will likely happen if he does not decide to dismiss the case.

That may be how things will work in the Unified Reich but until January this is still the United States of America and your diety is a convicted felon no matter what the lunatics in your head are telling you.

"Conviction" is the act or judicial process of finding a criminal defendant guilty of a charged offense. A jury finding of "guilty" is a conviction. Sentencing - following a guilty plea - can also be considered a conviction. So, at the moment, he is a convicted felon.

There are circumstances where a judge can set aside a jury verdict, usually due to fraud during the trial or because the judge believes the jury was unreasonable in their deliberation. The judge can't overturn a jury verdict.

And, of course, there are appeals, which can obviously overturn and eliminate a conviction.

Well, I went with result #1 from my search thinking that such a left wing info source would convince the TDS corpse (sic) that the info was correct, but I guess that I gave you too much credit. Try this one, a Yale professor happens to disagree with your uninformed opinion. Maybe pay attention to him about the technical aspects of this rather than the gremlins in your head?

"Despite media reports, Rubenfeld insisted that it’s “not true” that Trump is already a “convicted felon,” arguing that one is “not a convicted felon because of a jury verdict.”

“You are not convicted until the judge enters that judgment of guilt. Now, in New York, it’s very likely that Judge Merchan will enter that judgment of guilt against Trump on the same day that he issues sentencing. That’d be July 11th.” "

See my response to Pimp. Since Trump did NOT enter a guilty plea, by law he is NOT a convicted felon at this point, even though the jury has reached the verdict.

BTW, if this trial was actually done in pursuit of justice to right some horrible wrong rather than simply to harm Trump in the presidential election, why didn't the judge pronounce the sentence immediately like in the Laken Riley murder trial? Easy answer- nobody really cared if he ever had to go to jail, they simply wanted to use the "convicted felon" term in the election, and they didn't care about the incorrect use of it. They meaning the libs.

You appear to be completely divorced from reality, is there anyone at the Senior Center that can help?

Maybe you can find someone on the short bus to help you understand the difference between a jury verdict and a conviction, as they are not the same thing.

Just because someone in the media uses the term incorrectly is not something that proves your contention. After all, how often have you heard or read someone in the media refer to a cement wall, or cement driveway, or cement foundation? I hear that all the time, and the reality is that they are wrong-all of those things are made on concrete, not cement. Cement is simply one of the ingredients in concrete, along with sand, gravel, fly ash, plasticizer, water, etc- things that combine to make concrete.

You are being gaslit. Right from the Manhattan DA:

“Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr. today announced the all-count trial conviction of DONALD J. TRUMP, 77, for falsifying New York business records in order to conceal his illegal scheme to corrupt the 2016 election. TRUMP was convicted by a New York State Supreme Court jury of 34 counts of Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree.
