Does KW get picked up today?

How about S Sanders? Is he damaged goods or will he go early in round 2?

Cleveland has 2 picks in the first 4 today. If I’m them, I take the best OL available at 1, or a WR if I don’t like any of those options. The Titans and Texans have the next 2 picks and neither of them are going QB. Assuming someone doesn’t trade up, I look at Sanders at 4. If he’s gone I get what I didn’t at 1.

I let him fall until he is a bargain.

QBs haven’t generally gone in round 2 in recent years. The prevailing thought being if you wouldn’t take them in R1 you don’t think they are an NFL starter, why would you spend a premium pick on a backup. Could be another long day for Shedeur.

KW is for sure off the board today, and I think decent chance he goes R2.

I don’t usually root against kids but the fact Sanders was driving around campus in his Rolls, not paying parking tickets etc gives me a little joy seeing him get snubbed.

On the other hand, The Seahawks No 1 pick seems like the type you’d want to be in a fox hole with.

If you look at the guys who fell it certainly seems teams are prioritizing character more this year. Will Johnson from MI was a top 15 talent and he’s out of the first too. Same stuff as sanders, me guy, skipped most of the workouts, etc. a first round pick is too big of an investment to risk having drama in your locker room. FAFO fellas!

You don’t get to be a star on talent alone anymore. Work ethic matters. It’s almost as rare as real talent….and it can beat real talent.

It would have to be a pretty big foxhole.

While I think Cam Ward's character is questionable (refusing to play in the 2nd half of Miami's bowl game), it didn't affect him. Sanders, on the other hand, is getting what he deserves IMHO. Big mouth, big ego, pretty full of himself. Too good to throw at the Combine. Forget what other QB's are still available, but yeah not being taken at all in the 1st round says a lot. And you can bet Deion will be a hovercraft to whatever team does select him.

The QB pick should include the team's best guess as to leadership. You can certainly interview, but the best gauge of leadership is track record. Cam's track record in that respect is not ideal, but Sanders is worse. Have to be some others who benefit from having a good reputation in that category.

Cam Ward is known for exceptional character and leadership. Which is why he won the Davey O’Brien Award

The Davey O’Brien Quarterback Award honors candidates who exemplify Davey O’Brien’s enduring character while exhibiting teamwork, sportsmanship and leadership in both academics and athletics.

And:

Manning award for the best QB in College football which takes into account Leadership, character and the only award that includes Bowl Performance in its criteria.

Mario Cristobal said publicly, that Ward was only scheduled to play in the first half. He said it was a private, pre-arranged decision.

Other than not playing the second half of the Pop Tarts shitty bowl, and you guys trashing his character without taking the time to understand the facts, what character flaw are you speaking about?
