Sounds like Kyle Williams may end up as high as a day 2 pick. Poster child for playing in your bowl game.

I also think Esa Pole will get snagged in the 6th or 7th. You can’t coach that kind of size and his improvement has been immense in the short time he’s been playing.

And Cam Ward - meh.

I find it mildly shocking that there hasn't really been any movement via trade. Seems like a very tame year for shuffling picks so far.

Seems like - against my advice - the Titans are standing pat, and are likely to draft QB, since they've done nothing to address that gaping hole by free agency or trade. My prediction is that this move will guarantee that Tennessee picks top 10 again next season.

I kind of feel bad for Cam. The guy has a great arm and decent mobility. I just think that he's going to end up on a trash team and he's going to end up looking terrible.

Cam will get paid. I too am skeptical. Maybe he stays with the Titans and then goes to a career killer like the Jets. Either way, he'll make decent money and maybe doesn't have to work once he turns 30.

The best thing that could happen to Cam is to sit behind someone for 2-3 years and learn / observe.

We know that won't happen but that's what should happen for his success and development.

I think there’s going to be a trade or two into the top 10 or even 5. There’s a couple of really intriguing players who are highly sought after. Jeanty is being compared to Saquan and the demand of premium running backs has shifted back up a bit considering defenses are going with smaller faster hybrid LBs to better defend the pass. I think that the year that Bowers had is creating extra buzz for Warren too and a team who needs a TE weapon may jump into the top 10 to snag him. Think this is the calm before the storm and Thursday is going to be really entertaining.

KW has gotten a ton of buzz. I think he will go in the 2nd and will jump a bunch of WRs that the mockers had him behind. Hes NFL ready and runs routes like an NFL vet already with elite speed. Hunter is considered a generational skill player…and KW smoked him one on one.

Agree. I think (without evidence) that his work ethic and loyalty to his team (the Bowl Game) has to have had an impact on NFL decision makers when combined with his performance on the field and at the combine. Best wishes to this great Coug.

Alex Brink was interviewed a couple days ago about the draft. He said that folks he’s spoken to you, speak extremely highly of cams intelligence experience and physical tools.

He also said that if Mateer has a decent year in Oklahoma, he’s talked with several people that say he’s a lock at the top 10 overall pick next year in the NFL draft.

He will not need the help of the trash team around him to look terrible. He is more than capable of that on his own.

You go to College to learn skills to get a job.

Cam is going to earn $43 M guaranteed with a fifth year option. He already “won”
I think we’ve already settled this. Jamarcus Russell “won” too and anyone here would be tickled to be a $50M draft bust, that’s not in question. The question is about if Cam will be the pro bowler/All pro caliber player that is the expectation of the #1 pick. I don’t think he will be personally, and if I’m the Titans I’m taking Carter or Hunter who are both damn near locks to be perennial pro bowlers. Cam might be, or he might be Geno Smith, and it’s probably 70/30 or 80/20 that he’s Geno.

Anytime you’re ready to make that bet on Mateer let me know. He’s more likely to be undrafted than a first rounder. We can go double or nothing after you lose the Hegseth bet.

You should hit up Brink. He’s the broadcaster making the claim based on his sources. I just heard it and made you aware he said it.

Suppose Cam ends up in a bad situation to nowhere. As the #1 overall pick, he’s gonna get at least 2-3 more bites at the Apple when his contract expires. It will be up to him and his agent to find the best situation for his skills. It’s worked out for Darnold after struggling early.

Fair. You’ve also said prior to Brinks comment that Mateer will be a first round pick. I said then that’s not likely and better odds he will be an undrafted FA. I like Meteer a lot and he’s a helluva athlete. I’m taking my Coug shades off with this prediction and acknowledging how special you need to be to get drafted at all, let alone in the top 32 picks.

For sure that’s a real possibility. We’ve also seen talented guys get absolutely ruined in that position by bad franchises over and over. Unfortunately I’ve seen Cam go back to really bad habits behind sub par OLine play at Wazzu. He really had an ideal scenario at Miami with great skill players and a strong OLine in a weak conference. His reality next year is going to be more like what he had at Wazzu.

I don’t think Cam will be a “bust”. I think it’s likely he has a Geno like career…struggles with a bad team, fringe starter/backup and maybe a mid career reset. I don’t think he has all the tools to be a #1 pick, I think he’d have a way better chance going to a team like Pittsburg and I also think if all the QBs in last years draft were in this years draft he’d be the 7th or 8th QB and a fringe first rounder…probably going to a team like Pittsburg.

I agree. At the Senior bowl practices, and at the combine, KW had the FASTEST, QUICKEST, GET OFF THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE WITHOUT GETTING JAMMED, AND GET OPEN, CREATE SEPARATION, TIME, THEN CATCH BALL.

KW BREAKS CB ANKLES, with Jukes, start, stop, restarts on a dime, is extremely athletic, fast, quick, creates separation, can make amazing diving catches inside, can catch balls that only he can catch, can make amazing sideline catches, can make 1 hand catches, can make HIGH in the air catches, can make fight for the ball catches. If the ball is thrown even remotely close to semi close enough, KW is a Vacuum cleaner that catches everything(Think crossing Steve Largent, Paul Skansi, Blades, Jerry Rice, into 1 WR, and you would have KW)

And KW has 4.4 40 speed, is EXPLOSIVE off the line, has a 39 to 42 in vertical jump, that is EFFIN AMAZING.

And when he catches the ball in stride, KW is like a cross of Joey Galloway, Barry Sanders, and has great vision, follows blocks well, makes defenders miss, has excellent jukey, Shifty cutback moves, breaks tackles, gets north in a hurry, gets awesome YARDS AFTER THE CATCH, so much so that he can catch a 4 yard pass on the 6 yard line, and then break a 94 yard after catch TD run.

And he blocks extremely well for other Receivers, RB's, running QB's.

KW eats CB's, Safety's, Nickel Backs, Linebackers, bracket coverages, zone coverages for breakfast, and burns them all day long all over the field.

KW is one of the top 2,3,4 WR's in the draft.

He will be a STEAL of a pick in the 2nd round of the draft.

No way in hell should KW drop, fall down, go in the 3,4,5 rounds of draft.

The draft mockers that have KW behind 4 to 6 to 8 other WR's don't know Jack crap.

KW is NFL ready NOW.

KW will probably have a awesome pro bowl NFL career.
