Yup. Highest rated in the classLooks like the best athlete in the class. Rivals rating seems to agree. Great to see.
This is the type of recruit WSU has always played with. Offers from Colorado, SDSU, UNLV, Texas San-Antonio, Tulane. He has 1 power 5 offer.
At some point you gave to beat other power 5 teams for kids. You cannot have a class of kids that only had 1 power 5 offer.
This is a level of recruiting we have seen before.

The false prophet dropped him ? LolHe has no CU offer any more, those are getting pulled. This is not the offer list that wins Pac 12 games. A handful of kids like this? Sure. But if you think Leach signed tons of kids that only had 1 Power 5 offer you are wrong.
The bowl streak will end fast if Dickert signs a class of kids that were G5 or Big Sky until WSU showed up.

ive never seen an Astro turf media campaign like that employed for Deion. My Twitter is bombarded with paid for hype tweets touting Prime every 5 minutes. It’s annoying.
Here’s the deal, JSU had major NIL money and stocked their roster with P5 players. The rest of the swac had no nil money and no P5 players. His coaching resume given that fact are pretty questionable. apparently his NIl money is coming from Portnoy at Barstool, sports who is bankrolling him. The whole thing is just odd. It’s like a media created coach. I suppose if they hire top notch coordinators To do the coaching and buy top level talent Colorado can win, but they won’t have the overwhelming talent disparity he had at j s u.The false prophet shrank the CU verbal list faster than his 40 time.
He understands how to get his message out. Other schools do not. I dunno if he can coach at all. But he does know how to market, sell and motivate. Which may be enough.

Like his film a lot!!!
yea, he can be the front man.
You think about legit coaches who are great at running programs. They spent time as a grad assistant, position coaches at small, schools, coordinators before they ever get a shot at a HC job. They know the ins and outs of running a program.Exactly. Which would explain why he shuts down talk of him being a NFL coach. He knows at that level his X’s and O’s better be good. Here’s a hint…. they aren’t.
Think he’s waiting on the Florida State job to open???

3 years at a swac school with no other experience is ridiculous when you consider they were hyping him to take over a sec program as head coach.
Pro bowlers retire every year, some famous ones, but they aren’t ready to be a head coach in the sec.
Predictable.Rough part for Dickert is Ward and Cooper are going after a bunch of the guys who visited from Jucos and all down at ASU.
And that we will continue to see.He has 1 power 5 offer.

While I get what you’re saying…ultimately you need P5 talent that’s wanted by other P5 programs…there’s an element of this now that comes down to: do we think he’s in love with this program and will develop and stay in Pullman. With NIL and transfer portal madness this has to be a consideration for WSU recruiting. It does zero good to have a kid work into the starting lineup as a soph and play well then bolt at the first opportunity. I would think this is factoring in to their process. He has 1 power 5 offer.

This day and age in college I disagree. You are a spokesman, marketer, and hype man as a HC. You put a staff of guys around you who can coach, and you can bring in talent you will succeed. It’s a complete joke yeah, but that’s not Deion or CUs fault, that’s what they’ve turned CFB into. Look what he’s already doing a few weeks in, snagging 4 stars from blue blood programs. He puts a staff together they will win. It’s really that simple. You think about legit coaches who are great at running programs. Agree with that point, and if it is not, then it should be.While I get what you’re saying…ultimately you need P5 talent that’s wanted by other P5 programs…there’s an element of this now that comes down to: do we think he’s in love with this program and will develop and stay in Pullman. Buying players with Portnoys money and having real coach’s coach them , I guess that’s what we call a coach now. This day and age in college I disagree. I dunno... we watched the fuskies go 0 and 12 with (4-stars). U of Nike crawl to the sewer... Fusc shift down to the middle of the conference...This day and age in college I disagree. I'm not saying 4-stars are without value, but quality coaching AND STRENGTH DEVELOPMENT seem to be louder.
At least to me.
100%.Buying players with Portnoys money and having real coach’s coach them , I guess that’s what we call a coach now.
for the programs who don’t have billionaire Media moguls propping them up , we will still need a real coach, with vision , experience and intelligence. Ill take that over a front man any day.

What's the tie in with Portnoy about? Have then been buddies for a long time?Buying players with Portnoys money and having real coach’s coach them , I guess that’s what we call a coach now.

Deion joined Barstool after leaving NFL Network if I remember correctly. What's the tie in with Portnoy about? Have then been buddies for a long time?
Build class after class of solid 3* type kids who don’t have trouble in school, want to play in the Pac-12, and like what Pullman has to offer…that along with coaching consistency will keep WSU fielding developed upperclassmen and in the top half of the pac-12 with a chance to compete for the division/conference here and there. Let everyone else chase shiny objects. It ultimately doesn’t matter how many p5 offers the kids have if the talent is there and you feel pretty good that they will stick around through their development. I’d assume coaches are having that real conversation with recruits now too…”Hey. We’re going to give you an opportunity to play at the highest level of CFB. If you commit to us, remember that when we develop you into an all conference player and Tosh Lupoi calls you up your Junior year. “It's a Rivals RR 5.7. A RR 5.8 is a FOUR STAR.
Also this kid is a 3 star on some recruit rankers, and a FOUR STAR on other recruit rankers.
So the kid is a BORDERLINE, CUSP, HIGHEST RATED 3 STAR, AND LOWEST ENDED FOUR STAR.
NOT CHOPPED LIVER.
Just can't always go by number of P5 offers, as sometimes kids such as this sometimes have reasons for not having more quality offers, like grades, late bloomer, under radar, etc.
I wish I shared your optimism, but I am of the belief that basically a new MWC will be the kiss of death for the university (and probably similar like Oregon State). Will the university shut down? No. Will it impact attendance and endowment? Certainly.I have days where I think that it may be over for WSU, but then I bounce back and remind myself that it's always been this way for us.
I think in the coming years, the remaining big programs out West are going to leave what's left of the P10 behind. UW and Oregon will bolt. Stanford and Cal probably will too, possibly as independents. That'll leave WSU and Oregon State relegated to a rebuild Pacific conference that will be a Mountain West light league. Then what? Well, we'll probably settle in and find our niche there.
At the end of the day, the one thing WSU has going for it is the campus, the region, and the fact that it's a really cool place to go to school. Will it be different? Yes it will, but we'll adjust. We'll establish new rivalries vs. Boise State and Oregon State, schedule games vs. Oregon, UW, etc. as non-league contests and probably average the same attendance numbers as we currently do. I've sat through plenty of games vs. Arizona, Cal, Colorado, Stanford, and Oregon State with less than 23K fans in the seats.
I wasn't able to watch but saw the score. Glad WSU wasn't the only Air-Raid type P5 team to get crushed by Air Force in a bowl game.It was fun watching Troy Calhoun's Air Force team yesterday. That defense kicked ass all year, including in this bowl game. Consistent with the notion of getting 3-stars in the door, developing them, and keeping them around. The service academy context is different for a few reasons, of course.
Key point in this regard, to build on yours: it's not like you take everything we see with the program and just swap out Oregon and UW for Fresno State and Utah State, either. If the only issue was people not being as interested in MWC competition or opponents like those, that would be significant in and of itself, but it would "only" result in impacts like, say, a 25% decrease in attendance and something like a 10-20% decrease in applications (these are guesses, obviously).I wish I shared your optimism, but I am of the belief that basically a new MWC will be the kiss of death for the university (and probably similar like Oregon State). I didn't go to WSU to watch Cougar athletics play Boise State, Fresno State, Utah State, Colorado State, etc. and play UW in a non-conference game. No disrespect to those universities, that's just the case. I would've gone to a MWC school if I wanted that experience. I went to WSU to watch Cougar athletics play Oregon, USC, Arizona, Stanford, UW etc. annually. I would have absolutely no interest in participating in that, and although I loved my time at WSU, it would probably close the door on my involvement with the university. Maybe I am the minority? Great. But I have a hunch many would feel similar.

The even bigger issue is getting a fraction of the money from media rights and bowls / the playoff and having that impact the ability to service debt on facilities, pay and retain coaches, recruit, have good facilities and training to get players to the NFL, etc. That is massive and impacts everything, including the university as a whole.
It'll suck for a while, but then become the new normal. We'll still play a lot of the traditional rivals, but they'll be non-league games. If UW bolts, we'll probably be received some sort of annual payoff like Cal is getting from UCLA. Also, keep in mind that 60% of the WSU student body doesn't attend football games.I wish I shared your optimism, but I am of the belief that basically a new MWC will be the kiss of death for the university (and probably similar like Oregon State). So fans are supposed to just roll over and accept the new normal with open arms? Yeah, no. I would have no interest in that. If that's what it becomes, I won't be watching or caring any longer. At that point, WSU is a place that I got my degree and that's that. It'll suck for a while, but then become the new normal. Our new schedule will look like this:
UW
Oregon State
Boise State
Air Force
Fresno State
SDSU
Cal
And who knows what the future holds? There's going to be a response of some sort by the NCAA. They can't completely forget about the P5 and G5 programs who get left out. If they turn their backs on us completely, you may see the formation of an entirely new league. P5 holdovers, G5 schools, some FCS schools.
What makes the NCAA basketball tournament so special are the Cinderella stories. A 40-50 program super conference playoff will suck, and if the remaining programs are smart, they'll band together and turn their backs on them. Force them to play only each other unless they play fair.
