Nothing like a 3 man front against the triple option

I agree. The 11 best players aren’t very good. The DL in particular was bad.

The DL wasn’t good, especially in the first half, but schematically, we were out of position all night on their outside running plays. Once Air Force pitched the ball, it was their RB at full speed vs. one, sometimes 2 defenders coming up from 10 yards downfield. No match at all.

With only 3 down linemen, I have no idea why the back 7 was playing so far back all night. So what if Air Force hits a long passing TD? At least they don’t kill 10 minutes off the clock.

I know this is over simplistic, but I would have made them throw more. I’d have played a 4-4 with my corners at the LOS and said you’re not running wide. Very frustrating.

Agree. They respected their pass game too much. AF's QB runs the option well and he's probably going to be a hell of an aeronautical engineer, but he was not a good passer at all. He must have put his numbers up against some really bad defenses with wide open receivers.

Jam their WRs at the LOS. Man up. Stack the LOS with bodies and remove their double teams and cut blocks. Line the DL head up on the OL so the OL doesnt have clear blocking assignments. Slant kids thru gaps as fast as possible and make them pile up.

Or do what they did last night and lose.

Still shameful looking this morning. That is 10 on 4. How does the defensive staff still have jobs?

That picture is frightening . Reminds of Rich Rod trying the ole 3-3-5 in the Big 10.

Simply in alignment there is no way on number Osu occasions could we stop the toss sweep for less than 8 yards. If the 94 defense aligned like that they still would have had 8 easy yards

Jahad has taking horrible angles all night long. Least impressive 20 tackle game ever.
They ran like 200 plays, 197 of them runs. Pretty easy to rack up 20 tackles. That said I feel bad for JW, the defensive scheme left him pretty exposed. He had two guys hunting him run blocking damn near every play, that will cause you to cheat and take some bad angles after a while.
