JDL needs to learn what Gesser needed to learn. You’re way too valuable to be sacrificing your body on QB runs.
Energy level is so much greater with him in. He will make mistakes for sure. But we know what happens when that spark is absent.
7-6 Cougs after Cal botches extra point.
Cal ran over the Cougs on that drive. It's early but something has to change there. Too often the pile was being pushed back. Might have to blitz on running downs a few times to mix it up.

Because JDL has a terrible throwing motion and is wildly inaccurate…or so I’ve heard.
Cougs blitz for the sack.
They will need to do this even though they may get burned from time to time.

I’ll take JDL and this offense even with the young guy mistakes over anything else I’ve seen this year.
The INT was like a punt.
That said the need to make a long throw at some point to keep the Cal defense on their heels.
