Official WSU vs Aggie Game Thread

It was a strip, but it should not have been a first down anyway. Yes, he reached it over the first down line, but he brought the ball back behind the line while it was still a live ball. It's moot anyway because the turnover.

OT, but strange coincidence since we missed the start of this game for some nascar thing. Just read that Bobby Allison died today. He was one of my dad’s favorites, and we actually saw him race once in yakima….must have been early 80s. He won, of course.

That's terrible execution.

There's maybe 15k in the stands? Admin needs to get their shi*t together and get solutions in motion to get butts in seats.

Two turnovers squandered by bad play calling and bad execution. Get your shit together, pathetic.

November games have never been great. Add in the 3 day weekend, uninteresting opponent, and rainy forecast….this was never going to be a draw.

Remember in 2018, we were 9-1 and ranked #8. We played Arizona at home and had only 22K for official attendance…more like 18 actually.

This is looking better. D is doing better than they have. I like it.

Even better if they’re going to start calling holding…USU has been doing it all night

It was also cold as balls and the game was an absolute ass whipping. Kebob Hill had a tough game.

Not saying I disagree. But why hasn't WSU been able to find a visionary in the AD to get this sorted...?

Also, there's waaayyyy too much PA music. Band should be running the show.

Pricy blowout. Two secondary guys going down. Not good headed to NM next week.

Not sure there really is a solution. The issues with location and access are well established.

Last couple years there’s been more and more PA. Not sure why. Management of it has sometimes been spotty too.

If the refs had called the grounding, they don't score on this drive

Pretty easy to say the throw was affected by the contact. There was a receiver in the general direction of the throw. Its a flag that could have been thrown…but didn’t have to be.

Bend but don’t break. Throw in a couple of turnovers. It’s who they are the offense just needs to hold up their end of the bargain.

Parker has 149 yards and 2 TDs. Give it to him, get him past 150 with 3 scores. Then put him and Mateer on the bench.

Loose ball play, so basic spot is previous spot. Illegal batting would be half the distance. Not sure why the spot was the 20 after enforcement.

Edit: 10yds, not half the distance
Edit 2: Basic spot is spot of the fumble. So still not clear why the 20 after enforcement. Fumble was at the 20, so 10 yard is on the 10. Then USC game n coach a h. All good . Proper enforcement

Penalty is assessed from the point of the fumble, not the previous spot.

It’s probably good that USU’s best receiver is out. We can’t seem to cover the ones they have on the deep balls.

They’re patting our D on the back quite a bit, and can’t say I agree. USU isn’t a good team, and they’re going to get 350-400 yards. They’re completing 60%, we’ve given up at least 3 legit PI calls, and only have one sack. We’re tackling slightly better, but overall wouldn’t say we’re really playing any better.

Welcome to the dark side

I don’t necessarily agree with the praise but our D sorta is what it is. There’s not one stud on this D. Thornton is solid, but even our mediocre defenses had a Dayan Henley, Jaylen Watson, Hicks, Stone, BJack, etc. We don’t have one guy like that. they play hard there’s just not a lot of talent. And they give up some ground but most of the time they keep the score in the twenties and get a couple of key turnovers.

At this point, we may keep them under 350. I’ll take it.

I know the math says we could get a CFP spot, but this talk about style points is just babble. This D will get shredded by any playoff team.

And now…Utah just let BYU drive the field with under 2 minutes and kick a FG for the lead with 3 seconds left. BYU escapes.

Leaf is just being mean. Wow! At first I was thinking Nigel Burton was too homer. It seems Leaf is almost anti-Coug.

I mean, it's relative.

A "good" WSU defense ask gets shredded in a playoff scenario.

If you didn’t watch this game - and nobody on the playoff committee did - the box score isn’t very convincing. A 21-point win by a team that was +2 on turnovers over a team that had 9 penalties for 79 yards…isn’t impressive.

I agree. Something about Leaf was off tonight. He also talked a lot about himself.
At one point he seemed to lose track of what he was saying mid-sentence and just stop. I wondered if it was bad production, or if he just needed a refill.

Exactly. There is no solution to the Pullman problem

They consistently lined up slow and looked like they had not seen USU’s route combinations on film.

Let me just start by saying "GET OFF MY LAWN!!!" just to get that over with.

Okay, now here we go. It is REALLY starting to piss me off with the stadium sound system. Here are my gripes:
1. It is WAAAAY to loud. This is not just because I am old, because I am, but it is due to sound quality, which has been a pet peeve of mine going all the way back to high school. When you turn up the volume on a system to far, you go past peak sound quality, which means you are then just putting out shit. They are putting out shit!
2. When did it become federal law that "music" had to be played between every play? Did it ever occur to anyone in a position of authority that some of the people attending the game might possibly want to have a discussion with their friends/family members that they are trying to enjoy the game with? It is pretty much impossible with the way they are currently blasting us.
3. Music selection sucks! I get that not everyone has the same tastes, but how about at least a touch of diversity? Seems like we have all been lectured to for many years now how wonderful it is to actually have diversity. So my tastes run to classic rock, progressive rock (KPND, KZAM, KMTT, etc), but I can appreciate some other stuff also. With all the music and stations I have listened to over the years, I can honestly say I did not recognize a single thing they played last night! Not even Sweet Caroline, We Will Rock You, YMCA. So MUCH that could be added- throw in a short big band piece, some 50's like Buddy Holly or Chuck Berry, Beach Boys, and hundreds of possibilities from then forward.
4. Can someone that knows what is being blasted at us now please tell me what genre it is? HipHop, rap,

Sorry, but this damn site did it to me again. It only posted about half of my message. Not up to recreating the rest of it right now. Boy, that pisses me off!

YMCA is a fascist anthem.
