If you bothered reading you would see an answer to the questions you are asking.Well I think there are 61 people who would disagree with your described awesomeness of the approach over the Potomac. What would possess you to say something like that right now?
And there is nowhere else for a helicopter corridor to be other than right in the landing approach of a major airport? How about anywhere else but that? WTF was a military training flight doing there? No where else to go train?
Why is still the question. Pilots in general, and military pilots in particular, and pretty damn good at following procedures and protocols. The helicopter had a transponder on so there should be altitude data of that at least the portion of its flight prior to the collision. The helicopter was not maneuvering from what I've seen. Nor have I heard anything from the control tower telling the helicopter it was too high. The helicopter flight route had a mandate of 200' or below.
The collision occurred at 350'.

Yeah, pretty surprising response when Trump was publicly blaming democrats while the bodies were still warm.AOC is claiming it was due to retaliation for Trump proposing to cut funding. Maybe she’s right, maybe she’s wrong. Jeffries is out today calling for riots in the street to fight Trump.

Insurrection Barbie…The Ted Koppel of our time!
“Little people” flat. You are so intolerant! When you see an attack on DEI that suggests that dwarfs are part of the problem....you can't take any of it seriously. I have no love for DEI and I'm glad that my company doesn't have any DEI policies but it is objectively moronic to infer in any way that hiring of dwarfs was an obstacle that kept the government from meeting its hiring goals. The stupid sh!t that you people buy into just never ends.
The videos show two points of light that approach and then turn into a flash of light. Hard to draw conclusions from that, beyond that there was a crash. Why not watch the actual videos of the crash before closing your minds and explaining it away as an accident?
Or listen to the interview the pilot gave to a podcaster a day before the crash?
Ever post anything that doesn't include an insult or two? And US Senators from both sides are questioning why military helicopters are flying near the airport. Which was my main question. I guess they are just spewing BS as well.If you bothered reading you would see an answer to the questions you are asking.
And the approach is pretty awesome. You’re spewing a lot of BS about things you don’t understand. But that’s par for course for you. You know where a landing approach can go with a lot of restricted airspace? Over a river that runs right by the airport. You know where a helicopter corridor can be with a lot of restricted airspace? Over a river.
You started this crap. If your skin is so thin that you can't take it, don't dish out it. Your failure to either read or comprehend is your personal failing. Not mine. What possesses you to not read or comprehend, then spew nonsense?Ever post anything that doesn't include an insult or two? Without critical thinking skills, you should absolutely wait to be told what to think. The videos show two points of light that approach and then turn into a flash of light. Hard to draw conclusions from that, beyond that there was a crash.
It's pretty easy to see that there were mistakes made, and lots of opportunity for an accident. So why not look at that and recognize that an accident is far more plausible than any intentional act?
Better yet, why not wait until there's some actual evidence, rather than buying into Twitter conspiracies?

Ha beat me to it. The guy who has no critical thinking skills lecturing people on critical thinking skills 😂🤦🏼Says the guy who gets all of his information from Twitter

Yikes! Your bigotry is showing. Might want to edit
Another slow day at the office Gibby? It's apparently been that way all week, judging from your constant presence on WW. And apparently in the bedroom as well, judging from your late night and early morning posts. You started this crap. If your skin is so thin that you can't take it, don't dish out it. Your failure to either read or comprehend is your personal failing. Not mine. What possesses you to not read or comprehend, then spew nonsense?
And just to prove how dense you are, gee whiz senators on both sides are flapping their gums about a tragedy. OH MY GOSH! THAT NEVER HAPPENS! DO YOU THINK THERE WILL BE AN OVERSIGHT HEARING?!?!?!? GASP! But here is the real question- When it comes to shutting down or restricting flights out of DCA, which is by far the most convenient airport in the DC area, do you think they will do it and make their own lives crappier by to flying in and out of Dulles or BWI?
Why? Human nature is my [un]educated guess. And US Senators from both sides are questioning why military helicopters are flying near the airport. Which was my main question.
Yeah, ya can't sensibly interact with him. He's not capable of being cordial.Another slow day at the office Gibby? It's apparently been that way all week, judging from your constant presence on WW. And apparently in the bedroom as well, judging from your late night and early morning posts.
That said, what "crap" did I start? I didn't start this thread. You react to a tragedy by posting how awesome the view is on the approach to Reagan. I called out your insensitivity. and you double down on it, you insensitive F-. Who has the thin skin here, insult-boy?
And 4 personal insults in one post! About what? Exactly WTF did I post that makes me, let's see, thin-skinned, failing to read or comprehend, spewing nonsense, and dense? You feel better now? WTF are you even rambling about, dementia-boy?
Can you read or comprehend? The FAA suspended all military flights near Reagan. Elected and other officials are now lamenting the overwhelmingly passed bill to increase flights at Reagan less than a year ago.
Full list of lawmakers who voted to increase flights at Reagan Airport
The plan to add five incoming and five outgoing flights was included in the bipartisan FAA Reauthorization Act last year.www.newsweek.com
So in summary, F you, you smarmy little man. I try to interact with you - what a f-ing waste of time. You rarely have anything constructive to say. It's a constant barrage of flippant, information-free and insult filled one liners.
Oh, poor little (I mean literally) Gibby Wibby will come back with something like today's quote below from Rep Don Beyer (who represents the district including Reagan) to confirm how illiterate and dense the Loyal One is. Oh wait - the Rep. is saying what was exactly my point. Why are these flights right next to the airport? I guess wittle Gibby will have to pivot back to his original comment on how "awesome" a view the approach to Reagan is.Yeah, ya can't sensibly interact with him. He's not capable of being cordial.
I have to infer he's a still feeling a bit stung about being exposed (again) in another thread where he makes assertions and then refuses to back them up.
Unlike Biggs, tho, he's not worthy of being ignored because it's SOO damn fun to expose his flimsy and sloppy thinking. (Now...moth...come to the flame!!! 😄
That's all I have to say about that
Do you think any of the parties directly involved (military, airline, ATC) were unaware of any of the above?Oh, poor little (I mean literally) Gibby Wibby will come back with something like today's quote below from Rep Don Beyer (who represents the district including Reagan) to confirm how illiterate and dense the Loyal One is. Oh wait - the Rep. is saying what was exactly my point. Why are these flights right next to the airport? Per CNN:
The fatal aircraft collision on Wednesday “speaks to the larger issue of a very complicated airspace,” according to Rep. Don Beyer, who represents Arlington County, which includes the Reagan National Airport.
The airport had 25 million passengers in 2024 when it was designed for 14 million, Beyer told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Friday.
Beyer said his office wrote a letter to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth requesting a continued operational pause or redirection of the Black Hawk helicopter training route near Reagan airport.
The low-altitude helicopter corridor that was in use at the time of Wednesday’s collision was indefinitely shut down by the Federal Aviation Administration.
“What’s not clear is that those training flights need to be done right next to the airport. Why not move them out someplace in Southern Maryland and Virginia?”
