Root for UW to win the Rose for Pac 12 pride?

There aren’t a ton of better jobs than the UW nationally, much less in the West where Petersen has lived and worked his whole career. He wasn’t trying to flee to Tennessee last year either.

They don't seem to understand that trolling doesn't really work unless it's believable.

They say Petersen would leave UW to go coach some school back east and we just shake our heads, take their moronic drivel for what it's worth and say, "I'll take plastic."

He turned down SC. That's the end of the fantasy land they've created in their heads regarding Petersen.

Facts mixed up. SC turned down CP. If you need to believe otherwise, good on you.

You don't seem to understand that you being a troll over here and telling us about your national prestige makes you look like a clueless fool with no friends. You apparently don't have anyone to talk to and your dog is tired of licking the peanut butter from between your toes so you're here trying to get your kicks and feel better about yourself. I find it interesting that you didn't have any comment when I pointed out that UW is 1-14 since 2002 against Power 5 teams with winning records. Since UW is such a prominent national power, how can it be that your only win against a winning Power 5 team is almost a decade ago? BTW, WSU has sucked in that position to, but at least we beat Miami in the Sun Bowl a few years ago.

I didn't think there was any doubt. The story I heard was that USC turned down Peterson. Even some husky fans I know would have agreed with that while he was still at Boise. Now that he coaches at Washington, their narrative has changed and Peterson turned down USC.
I thought he also got turned down by another Pac-10 school as well. Can't remember who it was. Rumor had it that he wasn't a good interviewee.

Apparently it falls to me to remind you that the Pac-12 is in the Power 5.

I confess that I’m not meeting Husky fans who give a damn one way or the other.

Indeed, I was referencing the OOC schedule mentioned in a prior post. You seem to have forgotten the current national narrative that the Pac-12 is a crap conference and that in-conference wins don't matter. It's how you play when the light is shining the brightest that's remembered. Huskies have sucked at it for a long time. You did beat Nebraska in 2010, but your boys are 1-4 in their last five games against you. Ducks are 1-1, USC is 3-0, UCLA is 2-3, and ASU is 2-2 in that time frame. YOU LET THE WHOLE TEAM DOWN!

What's interesting is that outside of the Apple Cup, WSU is actually outperforming UW in the past four years and people are starting to notice. You get the credit for beating us in the AC, but people are starting to realize that UW is 25-11 in non-AC games and WSU is 26-9. The Apple Cup obviously counts in the standings, but once we get the mental monkey off our back.....it could get ugly for you. But hey, enjoy that national prestige that you enjoy in your own mind while it lasts.

We tremble at the mere suggestion that WSU might get its 33rd win in the 112th Apple Cup. It will surely be over for us then.

1) Did I say he was Brock's kid? No, I said "Huard's" kid... Damon did play football at UW for 4 years and had a better career than Brock in the NFL. And who gives a shit? He's the projected #1 pocket passer in his class.

2) I could care less what Cougars think about Jacob Eason. You'll do anything to convince yourselves that he won't be successful at UW because if he his, you're ****ed. Again, dissonance. I think he'll do great, no reason to believe he won't. The general consensus was that he performed admirably as a freshman and most Georgia fans were sad to see him go. He has the tools to do big things at UW.

3) I personally know Brandon Huffman and I've met Greg Biggins on a few occasions at camps and scouting tournaments. I've also met scouts for Rivals. Brandon and Greg show up early, interview everyone, and leave late. The guys Rivals sent were little boys with defiant attitudes who had to ask Huffman and Biggins for their insight. In fact, one kid from Rivals showed up to a camp I attended, stayed for an hour and left before 3 kids got scholarship offers from a major Pac 12 program 3 hours later. So I could give a crap less about rivals rankings and I'll stick to what 247 sports reports because they have guys who put passion into their work... not awkward, lazy adolescents.

I think you mean "you couldn't care less...".

Sometimes it seems we lose perspective that Wazzu will not get to the point where we win 50 percent or more of ACs. It just won't happen for any length of time. But that misses the point of the fun that winning 30 percent of those games gives far more pleasure for us than winning 70 percent gives UW fans. Because by all rights...we "should" essentially never beat UW with their built-in advantages of location, resources, $, etc.

(By the way, that makes our winning streaks vs Oregon, Furd, and Utah all that more impressive. We've had more success vs Oregon than has UW in the past decade. Astonishing, in fact.)

Probably real similar to the perspective Washington got in losing 12 straight to Oregon only to break through for a couple years , but then to stumble back to their losing ways against the Ducks this season. That is a staggering 13 losses in the last 15 meetings, had to really double check that one to make sure it really happened to program with such a stellar "National " reputation.

Nationally it's about USC. To the extent it's about UCLA at all, it's because of UCLA's location and other (non-football) athletic successes. Oregon and Stanford are not bigger time nationally than the UW.

Historically you may be correct about Oregon and Stanford not being “bigger time” than UW. Currently however I believe you would be incorrect at least in the national perspective (right or wrong). Peterson may change that that perception. I would wish your team good luck in the Rose Bowl but I would be lying. I will wish you and yours HHusky happy holidays and be totally genuine.

Obviously anything to counter what you say would be anecdotal also and so a bit fruitless but oh well. I will say that 3rd straight NY6 bowl for UW compared to zero for them in four years will have sway in national perception. Preseason hype is also a good indicator and like it or not (I was cringing this last season, start us somewhere 8-12 please) we've been getting it. I do wish the cougs luck in their bowl but will happily trash talk if they lose. :p
