So be prepared to lose 2-3 more players before it is all said and done Chun s shorts are so full of holes it is probably becoming embarrassing for him to turn around. You guys still do not get it. The" nerdball" butt boys at brand x are looking like the fools they are. The word is getting out and the trickle is becoming a flood.

What? Because players left? Seriously? When Mike Leach came on board, there were many players that left. When Kamie Ethridge was hired, there were many players that left. This happens everywhere. I hope we do not have years of you calling names and acting immaturely like you did during the Ken Bone years.Murphy has been contacted by Nebraska,CSU,LMU,SMU and Depaul. He was a quality Kent recruit. If Chun was going to make a change,he should have hired a quality coach. I do not think that he did that Time will tell but Smith s beginning looks terrible no matter how you slice it. There were some quality coaches out there but Chun hired essentially his third choice at best.He did not really have a plan and also screwed WSU in the shaky process. We shall see how the 12.6 million dollar coach does over the next few years.Maybe Moos will chuckle if Murphy commits to Nebraska?

Why would he change such an endearing persona at this stage of the game? What? Because players left? Seriously? When Mike Leach came on board, there were many players that left. Why are you guys engaging him? He has nothing constructive to offer.
Since when has that been the criteria ? I will say I am truly fascinated. Kent should have had a program even if it had 6 conference wins you could say look at the progress, there is a system in place , his best talent are freshman and sophomores and the one player they lose is the 8 player due to using up his eligibility. But there doesn’t appear to be a system, discipline , or the players ready to make it past this year? What is the plan?
Since I don’t spend a lot of time on the board I don’t know if he is upset because Kent was mistreated or constantly criticized by posters or if el has a personal relationship with the staff .

Klay Thompson wanted Smith. Who is likely a better judge of a coach?Well, multiple NBA head coaches/executives and NBA players, and well respected college coaches disagree with you. But what the hell do they know?

I agree. That is why I made my point to Loyal and not the useless troll.I can’t believe there have been this many responses to that troll.
Murphy has gotten a handful of new offers, but nothing special. One wonders if he ends up in Pullman after realizing the grass isn't greener.
This all seems like Smith/WSU moving on rather than Murphy making the decision to leave WSU. Do you get that impression?
He has after all had injury (foot) problems at both schools the last 2 years (Charlotte, and New Mexico JC. He missed a ton of games at both schools.
Pretty sure it was Smith who went a different direction. Regardless, I hope Murphy lands in a good spot.I have no idea what was said behind closed doors, but Murphy is a volume shooter in an era which values efficiency. 28% from behind the arc isn't great.
Not just defense but his whole system is based on doing things right for offense and rebounding as well. Defense is a part but only a part.
Since he asked for a release, one would think that he was given his release so that offer is no longer on the table.

What’s strange is he was pretty vocal “Go Coug’s” until the announcement and it’s not like he announced a destination. Something fundamentally changed for him over a couple of days. That can happen of course.if you really think WSU chose to go another direction and didn't want Murphy then theres a lot of delusional fans on this message board. Regardless of percentage for him, Murphy was considered arguably the best shooter in JC this year. Actually would have fit in nice with coach smith scheme as would Henson who I doubt very seriously is coming. I will say this, I find it hard to believe WSU will find a better shooter in Coach Smith time at WSU then Ryan Murphy and the loss of him is a blow.

Watching a couple of his JC games online in terms of shooting Skaggs came to mind I terms of looking for the 3. Brandx termed him as a “PG” in their article and personally didn’t think that was accurate. He’s a gunner.Well I think there is more to the story than Murphy being the "best shooter in JC ball". He didn't play in roughly 50% of his team's games over the course of the last two years due to an injury to his foot. Is he healthy now? Are there concerns over his health moving forward? If so, is that why higher tier teams/higher tier conference teams appear to have cooled, and/or backed off? He played in 13 games, and missed 17 at NM JC, and he missed around 10 games the prior year at Charlotte.
Second, he was very inconsistent in the 13 games he played last year at JC, and he didn't shoot the ball very well. Only 28% on threes (28-100 attempts), and 39% from the field. That's a lot of missed threes pumped up in only 13 games. I'm starting to get the impression of a Skaggs type player.
Maybe there is more to the story, but on paper, if I was a coach I would have some concerns over the above mentioned information.
For those of you that weren't impressed by Murphy's other choices, well lets see now, hes only been contacted by Gonzaga, TCU, Unlv, Pittsburgh, Nevada, Cal. I would say that isn't to shabby. Ryan Murphy was the best recruit coming in. Dont know what happened but the staff should have done a better job to keep Murphy a Coug! imma do some digging cause now im very interested to know why Murphy decommitted after being all in!
