The silence from the ACC is deafening

I thought there would be some noise re Stanford with hat in hand to the ACC. If it was a solid no we’d have probably heard by now. May be negotiating a changing in GOR or higher payouts to FSU, Clemson etc?

I still maintain if they are going to take Stanford, they should take Cal, OSU, WSU,SMU and SDSU for a western football pod and then add St Marys and GU for hoops and Olympic sports.

They aren’t in a hurry. The mad scramble is over, conferences can take their time right now vetting out opportunities. The Big 12 isn’t necessarily done either IMO, they just aren’t in any rush to make a move.

I read the silence is a polite no thank you. Let's be clear, if a conference wants to move they can, quickly. The ACC knows that Stan/Cal needs to know so they can plan.

Taking only 2 west coast teams to the acc makes 0 sense. I see Stanford going independent for football and Cal bring “stuck” with OSU and WSU.

I still think the best bet for the PAC4 schools is to stick together and try to rebuild the conference or something like it with the best of the MWC and AAC schools. Whether that happens though remains to be seen. Going independent is a hard way to go as BYU found out and Stanford is no Notre Dame.

They’ve got the money to do it until a better opportunity develops. Worse case they join us in whatever conference we are in somewhere down the line.
