He takes a test this Thursday and if he passes, he graduates and is able to join Oregon. If he doesn't, he is likely screwed. I am not sure how he catches up, as he has not been able to practice or build chemistry with the Ducks yet.

Quote from the article, "Though Oregon doesn’t start fall classes until the end of September, Adams said this is his “last shot.” If he doesn’t pass and can’t join the Ducks, Adams isn’t sure what he’ll do. Returning to Eastern is possible, but it's unlikely the Eagles would take him back."

Also, I had heard this the other day, but RB Thomas Tyner had surgery on his shoulder and will miss this season. Is there beginning to be cracks in Eugene?

I'm standing by the prediction I made several months ago, that Oregon loses 4 games this season, with our without Adams.

I heard that he takes the test today and finds out his score on Thursday. He might be in Eugene tonight.....waiting.....sweating....etc, etc.

On the radio yesterday they said that Adams has failed this class twice already.

Admissions standard to Oregon' grad school must be tough, they actually expect someone to pass an undergrad math class to be accepted. No matter how you spin it, this does just dropped Oregon down a notch in academic standards, I have to think the administration of the University is mortified by this. Of course an 11 win season and North championship will ease some of the that pain, but it won't be easy for Oregon this year, and I do think the North is wide open.

Let's face it, academics across the country have taken many hits due to dumbing down of students and the huge money that drives college athletics. It's hard not to sell your soul to billions of dollars. Universities are no different.

So, 2-3 weeks ago, I'm in Cannon Beach and some arrogant 50 year old *uck decked out in $1,000 worth of duckchit, is sprawled out on a bench as I'm leaving the beach...

So, I say, "tough break on Adams getting to camp late, yeah?"

*uck, "Ha... no, not at all... he'd be our 3rd or 4th best QB... we have 5 that every team in the conference would drool over"
me: "sounds like you won another off season natty"

Damn Huskie fans hate those damn Duck Fans.....man it's priceless. Lockie looked pretty good in the spring from what I saw. He's not a Heisman Trophy winner, but he's not chopped liver either. I know some Duck fans and it's either National Championship or disappointment......which usually means one thing- you didn't love them in the first place.

Hating an entire state doesn't strike you as arrogant or ignorant?

I love the state of Oregon which is why I've spent so much time there this summer. It would be a butter place if I encountered more happy well adjusted people who lived there rather than angry folks like you. The people I meet seem to be new transplants and/or tourists... they're happy and engaging.

His test is Thursday and he should have the P/F result by 2:30 PM. The Eastern coach made zero opening for a potential return. Personally, I want him to pass the test and join the ducks just for the ensuing media explosion over the inevitable "who starts at QB" question that will plague the lead-in to each game.

You're a funny man?

Eagles will not take him back.

"God bless you and your family."

I am sure the guy/tutor that took the test for Adams let SB nation know he passed it.
Haha! I saw somewhere today he failed to pass 2 times before this most recent exam so hopefully the "tutor" had a better day.

I actually hope he does pass the exam. This kind of thing is possible (FCS QB to FBS program) but rarely are things going to line up in such a way where a qb from EWU is going to transfer to Nike U. It's an interesting story and I would personally like to see how he does at Oregon. It's been fun watching him the last few years go up against the Pac 12.

Any way this plays out, this is GREAT pre season Pac-12 theater.

You just know every player on the Oregon roster must be getting sick of getting asked about this.

Meanwhile...

It was declared by the Oregon SB Nation site, who has since taken down the posting. Nothing official has been announced or reported.

Wow....who knew this was such an important journalistic event. It tops politics at times.
Hey now!!!! Grew up in Oregon!!!! ;)

Could explain the twitch I have every once in a while… o_O

Look forward to WSU playing Oregon with or without Adams starting at QB. The new kid on the block dynamic should be interesting. I'm with CougPatrol? and calling Oregon losing 4.

I think Baldwin is going places. Just saying. I hope he gets the right next step to a program like Utah State or Nevada.

Just to stir the pot, let's say that Baldwin stays at EWU for four more years and wins at least one more national championship. Let's say that Leach retires to write books after getting WSU to the point we are averaging about 7 wins per year. Would you accept Baldwin as an option?

I'd say that there's some fair proving grounds just below a Pac 12 team.....teams that have an established reputation for being able to compete strongly and then beat a Pac 12 team every now and then. Some disagreed....but I think programs like Utah State and Nevada are those proving grounds. Unlike an FCS school ....a new head coach has the budget to hire some truly promising coordinators, assistants and recruiting coordinator. Then..after a couple of years..they develop a reputation for winning and start pulling players away from San Diego State, Fresno State, etc and then appear to be staying on course. After that happens.......someone like Wisconsin steals their head coach.

When Baldwin is ready to move on... and it won't be for a few more years... perhaps several...he isn't going to Utah State to 'prove' himself.

If Leach 'retires' out of WSU, implying long term success, his replacement will come from his staff, wouldn't you think?
