TD......CCOOOOOUUUUGGGSSSS!!!BALLS OUT COUGS RECOVER!!
JUST WHEN I THOUGHT YOU COULDN'T BE ANY DUMBER, YOU GO AND DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS... AND TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF!!
Nostradamus-likeFade route coming?
What does that say about our QB and receiving corp when it is obvious and we do it anyway?Nostradamus-like
The Cougs are a real PAC-12 program again.
For some time it seemed like it was men vs boys with the Cougs being the boys.
WSU is imposing their will on the UA defense right now. Sure there is a long ways to go but this team can compete with anyone in this league.
When was the last time you could say that?
Great job so far by the team today
Serious question: how patient should we be with special teams?
And how much talent do we need to have to stop giving up a house call every G-D game?
Do ST coaches need "a few years" to stop giving gobs of ST TDs? Or is that something that should not be happening even in Year 1 or 2?
A lot, and for once, all of it is good. What does that say about our QB and receiving corp when it is obvious and we do it anyway?
The beating will continue until morale improves?
Seriously though, I think it is focus. Whether it is time at practice or attitude I'm not sure. But I think they need to focus on ST like they do on O or D.
My finger is not pointed at Leach. I've been totally patient with him, though admittedly it was beginning to wear thin after Portland State in Year 4.As long as it takes. People have been questioning Leach every year he has been in Pullman. Moos has given him time and the investment looks good. Mele looks like he knows what he is doing. Slowly the ST will get better. It may not be completely healed until next year. But, there has been improvement.

Part of it could be the change in focus since the Price era. Then, D was king, so perhaps great tackles, great coverage, etc was especially praised. Now with O the emphasis, perhaps there's less incentive for those types of plays?According to Thorpe, they do. Understand, while there are starters on ST, many of them are very young players. Young players make both physical and mental mistakes.
Just looks like that. TV narrows the vision and you can't see the adjustment made.Dumb question here, by why on earth do our kickers kick precisely to the returner on punts and kickoffs? What am I missing? Seems wise to kick to the opposite side of the field and that is where your coverage goes.

Yep - take the points and get to the half.I'd go for the FG.

Leach's halftime interviews are secretly dismissive in a way that I'm really warming up to.
"Hey coach, duh, ya gave up another special teams touchdown, how do you, uh, adjust?"
"Run down there and tackle the guy."
You could interpret this as folksy and endearing, or as "let me give this idiot a 4-second non-sound-byte so I can check the compliance box but also say nothing."

Well it basically is what they need to do. They ran down...they didn't tackle him. 4 people put a hand on him...but they didn't tackle him.
Can our D keep Arizona on their own side of the 50 for 20 seconds?

I understand, but it is also making him not so comfortable. We kick directly to the returner it seems to me. At least mix it up would be my put on this. Make sense? If the ball is in the air, the return man has enough time to go get it no matter what side of the field the ball is kicked.
Up two scores going into the half, offense just shredding UA. So far, so good.
Would be nice to come out of half with a stop.
Eh, Arizona stopped themselves. Not good enough.Wish granted.
