Safe travels to those of you traveling to Omaha. I'm a proud Omaha native (and Husker grad) who drives back every year to visit my family.
Absolutely try a Runza. They're a type of hand pastry (think beirock or pasty) which consists of hamburger and cabbage and LOTS of pepper in a bread pastry. They also have really good onion rings.
If time allows the HD Zoo and Aquarium is also something you must do. The Zoo is consistently rated one of the top zoos in the US and is amazing. If you're limited on time the Aquarium is my favorite (lots of penguins). The skyfari (ski lift) is a good way to get from one side of the zoo to the other - just make sure you get a ticket that allows you to get off.
