He’s good but I don’t know if he’s $1.4M good. What Claeys did this year with way less is far more impressive.

Grinch is not yet fully proven. Clearly a lot of potential, and some encouraging performance...certainly enough to look like he is a comer. But there are a lot of guys who never fully realize what was perceived to be their potential. Time will tell. After 2 years at OU we will have a pretty good idea.

Based on the performance of OU’s defense this year, Grinch is an upgrade.

He’s a well regarded young coach. $1.4m/year at a blue blood isn’t a reach. Leach doesn’t miss very often on his assistants, and the Sooners factored that in I’m sure.
