Apple Cup next weekend (Friday night)?

UW would be playing in the Pac-12 Championship game next Friday if (1) They play Oregon and beat them (2) They don't play UO this weekend due to COVID (3) They are healthy enough to play next Friday, assuming either (1) or (2) happens. Chances for an Apple Cup next week are slim, but not impossible.

UW-ORE game was cancelled today.

They should scrap the Pac-12 championship all together and just schedule as many games as they can starting with rivalry games. Considering the most games a team will play is 4-5 it’s a complete joke to have a CG. Nobody outside those two fan bases will watch it and they’d watch a regular league game anyways.

Thanks for the update, 79. I had not seen the official announcement. It appears UW might not be able to participate in the conference championship game even though they win the North by not playing UO. King County still requires a 14-day quarantine for contact tracing even though CDC has revised that recommended quarantine to just 10 days/7 days with a negative test.

In any event, it appears it's either no game for UW next weekend or a conference championship game for UW....certainly no Apple Cup will be played.

Makes sense.

Students are out of town (required for all Pullman Apple Cups) & it gives Inslee and his Coug "mom" another photo op.

the Dawgs are 3 and 1 their opponents win loss total is 5-11, and had the refs been able to spot the ball correctly just once, not twice, they would have lost to OSU. Their one loss is to a 500 team, their convincing win was against a winless team, UW doesn't deserve to be in an Championship Game, if Colorado and USC are both undefeated, let them battle it out. Also, not that it makes a huge difference since there are no crowds, but an interesting fact, all 4 of the UW games have been at home.
