Election Day

I don't know that there was a viable alternative other than Harris. Newsom, Whitmer or whoever played it smart by passing and focusing on 2028, IMO.
Newsome just ate a poopy sandwich inre Proposition 36. He was highly vocal about how bad it was and yet it's passing with 70% of the vote (heavy bipartisan in a blue state). He's going to have to pivot hard between now and 2028 on that issue (crime and punishment), not to mention his propensity for being pro-tax (which is always a hard sell with our current levels of inflation...which aren't going to change, as they're permanent now).

Plus, I suspect there are some skeletons in that dude's closet...he's escaped national scrutiny because he's remained a regional clown. There'll be some women coming forward with tales of hijinx, no doubt.

I was traveling yesterday so missed some of the details, but is it true 15M less votes were counted? Seems a little odd. Will you election fraud and rigged election experts take a peek into that? I’m sure you’re very concerned. Thanks!
I don’t know what the numbers were, but there was talk about reduced turnout. Sound like lots of people didn’t have a strong preference, so didn’t vote. Also sounds like there were a fair number who didn’t vote for president, but voted down ballot races.

2020 was a big year for turnout, so this isn't weird. Harris will get about 10 million less than Biden, and Trump will get about the same as what he got in 2020.

I'm an independent, and any democrat mad at the results should pissed at their party. They flat out blew it. And you could see it coming. They choose to dig their heels in and didn't want to change their tune. Their messaging and campaign was botched. Biden should have been pushed out earlier. Harris wasn't the Biden replacement answer....she had low ratings at a VP...was she going to be more favorable as President.

Again, this is 100% on the terrible democrat messaging and policies. If they don't change to more moderate, common sense policies, they will lose badly again.
This was 12 years in the making. The democrats have had the same tired old candidates since Obama’s term ended. Clinton, Biden, and Sanders are yesterday’s news, and they still don’t have another interesting candidate to press forward with. Kamala was just the same old thing in a younger package.
The republicans are clearly looking ahead, and Vance looks like their likely candidate in 2028. More importantly, they’ve consolidated positions and are staking positions. The democrats are disorganized, don’t have a leader, and they’re getting older. Republicans have a platform, a leader, and now a young candidate.

If they don’t pull their heads out and start moving with the times, the Dems won’t see the inside of the oval for another generation.

I did want to say that I 100% agree with you that Democrats are idiots. They got so caught up in trying to fix issues for fringe groups that they pissed off the majority of the country. I'm not surprised that Trump won because the Democrats made it easy to generate headlines that people would love to hate.

As far as the future goes? It's a bit early to declare GOP domination given that 4 years ago Donald Trump was supposed to have been swept into the dustbin of history. A$$holes like JD Vance are not going to be winning national elections. There's a reason that the GOP is too chickenshit to walk away from Trump. Anyone else trying his bullshit would be in prison. But hey, you gotta respect that Trump knows how to push buttons and do whatever the f#ck he wants. It's impressive.
Not an unhinged emotional rant. Nope. Not at all.

😡 rage on Bro!

I had to go to a city council meeting last night and the polling place at City Hall was a ghost town. In the past, there's been a line through the building at closing time with the poor bastard at the end holding a tag saying that they would be the last voter accepted.

Or until there is economic problems.

Vance is a blithering idiot with the personality of a turnip.

I had to look up this Prop 36. I read the linked article below and am very confused. to quote:

"It would also increase state costs due to an increase in the workload at the state level. The LAO says felonies take more time to resolve than felonies and that treatment-mandated felonies would increase the workload of the court."

Obviously a typo (author is clearly not a Murrow grad), but the whole recap is inconsistent. Good luck figuring this one out California.

And:
Just like on the state level, the county courts would likely see an increase in workload. It would require more local prosecutors and public defenders and treatment-mandated felonies creating more work for county agencies, such as probation or behavioral health departments.

Proposition 36 would reduce how much the state must spend on mental health and drug treatment,

So it will increase treatment-mandated felonies while reducing how much the state spends on mental health and drug treatment. What? Geezus. And I thought Washington's initiatives were confusing......

Ok
Sooner rather than later
Possibly. Trump has noticeably declined cognitively. Watching the feeble old fart try to get into his garbage truck and flail badly was at least as pathetic looking as seeing stiff old Joe trying to walk around. Plus he’s probably one McDonald’s fry away from coding.

I don’t really think it’s fair that people criticize Trump for having issues with the door. Realistically, how many times in his life do you believe he’s had to open a door for himself? And on a work vehicle?

Probably gonna cost him the election, yes?

JD came up from nothing, US Marine, top of his class at Yale, VC, US Senator, masterful debater, current VP....all before he turned 40 y/o. He also comes across as extremely likeable, unlike you.

Let's hear your top 40 under 40 resume Willie. Covid cultist, lost thousands of dollars on a new triple mask design concept the prototype of which never got out of his Moms basement, personality of head cheese, bitter/angry about his miserable existence. Now who is really the blithering idiot.

You should 100% agree with me as the posts that I have dropped in this cesspool of a forum full of miserable angry deranged delusional Trump haters are rarely wrong.

Your comments are often wrong....but much like Trump.....occasionally right as well. FWIW, I respect the fact that Trump has incredible business instincts and an innate understanding of what makes people tick. I hate that he lacks an understanding of restraint when he says and does things and that he lets his ego drive his every action. He could be the greatest President that our country has ever had if he could just do the job well instead of making everything about him. His need to be "GREAT" causes him to say and do things that no reasonable human being would ever say or do....and usually not in a good way.

But hey, we get four more years of his bullsh!t speeches and lies and then we are done with him. Unless the GOP rolls him off into the old folks home once they realize that he, like Biden, is losing the battle against Father Time.
