Game Thread. Cougs vs Trojans

He expects to get every call even when it’s obviously not in his favor. Reminds me of Helton a few years back. The amount of “assistance” USC needs to beat us in their house is insane. Conference has zero shame.
Exactly. His little "I need an explanation" right before he ran in for half-time and shaking his head and pointing at them was pretty bad.

Cougars played a decent first half on the road.
Fell behind 10-0 and now only trail by 3. Ward has looked cool despite some pressure.
USC will come out looking for blood in the 2nd half so I think this is THE PERFECT time for a take-a-way. Defense also might be missing Stone and one of the D-linemen so we'll see if they are back for the 2nd half.

You think that was dumb? Looked like a BS PI call to me. I’ve never seen 7 so directly traced to a [bad] call than that PI call right there

Playing the conference bluebloods is so frustrating, esp as a WSU type team. Best case scenario the refs accidentally ensure the cookie crumbles against you; worst case, the refs do it on purpose
Trace the td to us lining up offside again

If Chun were smart…. make a cut up film of all the bad calls against WSU that influenced games… take it back literally as far as the game film you have…. then, add the point spread…

Send it to the FBI. Vegas has paid for Pac 10 refs.
I don't know what it is, but somehow the bias against squads like WSU and OSU is disgusting.

You’re backed up. QB is in shotgun in the endzone. He completes a pass in the endzone.

Wow. Morris puts the offense in bad spots.

Put the qb under center.

Thought we might have gotten away with a friendly PI call there. Then they picked it up. they don’t miss anything on us, or call anything on them

Win or lose, this is an even game. The calls are all going against us, but I think it's more a result of fluke plays than one sided officiating.

Won’t some zebra out there please give poor old USC a few free bogus calls?! Can’t they catch a break against big bad WSU At home in the coliseum?

WSU 11 penalties for 106 yards
SC 4 penalties for 45 yards

Maybe we should start predicting penalties instead of scores?

How do you block if you can’t use your arms or shoulders? As a former OL, I really don’t know how that would work.

Need to a Cougar to light up a U$C player. And then when the media asks about the egregious hit, said player says "that was for Carol Folt."

The rule language is worded in way it can bail out bad/rigged officiating.

blindside block — “an open field block against an opponent that is initiated from outside the opponent’s field of vision, or otherwise in such a manner that the opponent cannot reasonably defend himself against the block”

The defender was facing the lineman by the time contact was made. How does that meet the rule?

That "blind side" hit call was so bullsh!t. He was trying to chase the QB. He should be aware of guys trying to block him.

Laying a guy out is part of football. You have to reward the Oline for protecting the house. He was trying to break in. He should be terrified to break in.

What we just saw is the veeeger of what football has become

We have not had more than 5 penalties in any game this season. No more than 50 yards.

Yet somehow 11 in this one for 106 through 3?

That’s not just a statistical outlier. It’s outside influence.
