Sort of. He did take salary reductions from one year to the next, but that has often deferred the salary to later years.

He’s been using “void years,” which I don’t entirely understand, but it essentially spreads his compensation into years where he’s drawing salary. Right now, he’ll play for the Bucs in 2022, and they’ll pay him $35M between 2023-2026. It spreads out his cap impact and makes him cheaper now. Downside is that he’ll continue to count against their cap until he’s 50.
