Official game thread. Cougs vs. Cats

14 -7 late in 1st
Ariz seems to rely on the jump ball throw. It worked for them that time but it cost them a turnover earlier.
Tate ran for 10 yards but he got out of bounds before someone could hit him.
Cougs with a good return.

Gotta love the AZ WR Throwing Molton to the ground thus committing OFFENSIVE PASS INTERFERENCE, then BUTLUCK catching the horribly underthrown ball for a TD, then the HORRIBLY BAD OFFICIATING NOT ONLY NO CALL MISSED OFFENSIVE PASS INTERFERENCE BUT THEN CALLING BS DEFENSIVE PI ON MOLTON.

MORE BS OFFICIATING PLEASE

NOT

Minshew is looking sharp and the offense looks crisp. Defense needs to turn it up here.

Brock was saying just before kick that he was watching practice, and we were like a machine. Communication was strictly hand signals, and it was just running like a top.

I've been hard on Molton....but that was a total BS PI call. Receiver pushed him down, but naturally the official that couldn't see it calls it the other way. Other guys don't have the balls to over-rule him.

Both the calls on Molton were tough. He's committed a lot of obvious PI this year, but the first was iffy and the second was BS

Looks like we should expect a lot more of Tate's legs as he gets frustrated

Good news is the offense is moving the ball as well as we could have possibly hoped

Jessamyn McIntyre just said on the radio that both CB coach Darcel McBath and LB coach Ken Wilson told the CB's that those PI calls were bad and to ignore them and continue to play the same way.

Seems like we're really going after punts? Kind of worries me as it seems like a needless risk with running into/roughing

I think it is targeting, but I hope they do not throw him out.

Targeting calls are such a mess. They need to fix it.
As I wrote, I am glad that they didn't throw him out. I think the rule needs to be revisited to make it more consistent and for fewer players to be thrown out for just playing. The one obvious call that the player should have been thrown out was on Gustin

Great game by the Cougs so far.
Would not have guessed this score so early in the game.
Defense needs to keep it going. Make them earn every yard and get a good hit on Tate if he decides to take off more.
