Gubrud saw sugar plums dancing in his head and a possible pro contract.. To be a highly recruited grad transfer QB who torched his current team and now to be third string QB cannot make him a happy camper.Well if Gorden continues to do well against better teams he may ride the bench for the rest of the season.
I think as a whole, we are disappointed that they didn't play better. I am sure Coach Leach and Coach Claeys believe the same thing. However, still very pleased that they blew out a team without playing their best. A few years ago, the team would have panicked. They showed no evidence of panicking. I do think the defense is better than they played today. I expect them to show better against Houston.
He's one QB injury from being a starter. God forbid that AG gets injured, but anything can happen.

Boise St 14-7 at home over Marshall after beating FSU on the road
Imagine the frustrations with their fans.
I wish that Army would have won that game. It would have been great to see Harbaugh's head explode.

Speaking of UCLA, 0-2 after losses to Cincinnati and San Diego St., they play Oklahoma next week. Likely to be 0-3.
Also of note: 2 California teams playing each other, only 2 hours apart, 24+ million population in that region, and they only get 36,000 attendance in a stadium that seats 91,000.

It got us having our RB choose us over Stanford.
It got us with not 1 but 2 QBs on NFL rosters.
It got us better and better talent every year as well as 3 OL drafted as well as defensive players starting and on NFL rosters.
Go look at the average recruiting ranking over the past 8 years and how ours has risen closing the talent gap.

We’ve beaten them 4 years in a row.
Makes me wonder what other dynamics are at play with all these upsets. Seems like so many this year. Like how in NCAAB we are well into the 1-and-done era where teams with a bunch of juniors and seniors can realistically beat dream teams of highly recruited freshmen who have comparatively little chemistry.
Not saying it's that, just wondering what can account for the chaos so far this year.
I"ll take Mike Leach's assessment over yours. Coach Leach after the game:
Leach said Gordon also had a good game.

31-39 for 464 yards and 4 TDs. Don't understand what's wrong with those kind of numbers. How much better does he need to be vs. Houston? WSU defense is a much, much bigger concern.

We did manage to get in his kitchen though by pointing out that UW is playing with Georgia's sloppy seconds. Couldn't make the cut in Athens so he made the drive of shame back up to WA and slid into the #1 spot before he even filled out the transfer paperwork. Not only talking about him, but I have always wondered how people get so much enjoyment by going to other teams boards and trolling.
Over the years we've all seen trolls such as he. Like them, he'll lose interest. They're like a stray dog hanging around the back porch looking for scraps...as long as you feed them they'll keep coming back. Oh they'll beg a little at first when you no longer feed them, but soon enough they wander off to the next house that gives them the attention they crave.
I think "troll" is part of the psychological motivation but I also really believe that the guy's subliminal #1 objective is to police our thoughts. He's genuinely bothered by the fact that AC victories are not followed by medieval blood oaths to live out the balance of our lives in total subservience, obedience and self-abasement. I exaggerate but the guy really hates that each Apple Cup outcome fails to bring about the disbandment of Cougar football and - God help us - that some Cougs even have the temerity to periodically suggest mitigating factors. This does not at all square with his idea that victory means one's opponents ought to gratefully offer up themselves into slavery to avoid even worse fates.
As for the "feed the trolls" idea, hey, I'm in. But it's like asking everyone at Madison Square Garden to indulge a 30-second moment of silence - SOMEONE is going to cough. Not gonna happen. How did the ceasefire on the Doba vs Wulff vs Leach debate flame out? Was it a gentlemen's agreement or did people beat it to death and move on to something else stale?
I guess that's where Scott can come in and ban but that too is not going to happen. So might as well play these trolls like the predictable pinball machines they are.

2.Evan Weaver backed up his talk. 18 tackles, 14 solo and 2 tackles for loss.
3. The player with the best defensive statistics for the uw is a player that Petersen says he doesn't recruit, one that was committed to another team.
4. Listening to Seattle sports radio is going to be very enjoyable on Monday.
