Per Mississippi State insider on Brand X network:

NICK ROLOVICH

Currently:
Offensive coordinator, Seattle XFL

Age: 44

Alma Mater: Hawaii

Salary: $500,000

Buyout: Not Available

Resume: 2024-present, Seattle XFL (offensive coordinator); 2020-21, Washington State (head coach); 2016-19, Hawaii (head coach); 2012-15, Nevada (offensive coordinator, quarterbacks); 2008-11, Hawaii (offensive coordinator, quarterbacks); 2006-07, City College of San Francisco (quarterbacks)

Points of Interest: Replaced Mike Leach as head coach at Washington State when Leach took the Mississippi State job…Rolovich was dismissed from Washington State when he would not take the COVID vaccine in October 2021

Why He Makes Sense: Former Power 5 head coach, with offensive coaching background

What Makes You Worry: Has never coached in the SEC or the Southeast

Obviously worked well when WSU hired Coach Leach back in 2020.

Maybe the Bulldogs are looking for lightning to strike twice by hiring CML's successor?

They fired Arnett. Holy crap.

Seems like a quality DC candidate.

For those pining for a guy with a lot of HC experience, Jimbo is available!! He’d be right up there for me with Charlie Weiss and Rich Rodriguez. Considering what he did with all that five star talent at A&M, I’m sure he’d kill it with our 2-3* hauls here.

I needed a good laugh today thank you. At this point Dickert and Rolo could team back up and be the hottest coaching duo in the country!

It was stupid to hire him in the first place. Air Raid system replacing with a defensive, pro-offense style guy.

USC will hire Texas' DC and then Arnett will fall upward to be with noted fall-upward guy Sark.

Brady Hoke is 'retiring' at SDSU, too.

From what I read at the time, Miss. State promoted Arnett from DC to HC a few days after the passing of Coach Leach last December. MSU didn't have an athletic director at the time (gone to Auburn).

The administration may have been trying to create some stability in light of the transfer portal and a recruiting class yet to sign

53rd rated defense and the 103rd ranked offense. It might be a relief being fired from that. Could call on the vacant SDSU position. Arnett's a west coast guy.
