You are completely wrong on this. The left IS forcing it upon the rest of the country.
Let's take a look at the evolution of this. Gays used to hide their orientation, and a lot of times I am sure they saved themselves some harassment by doing so. Then the argument became one of equal rights, that they should not be discriminated upon in housing, employment, etc, along with having the right to visit and make health decisions for their partner.
So the gay/lesbian community got that, and then the narrative shifted from equal rights to acceptance. They wanted all people to accept them and not voice any disapproval of that life style/orientation. Not exactly right in my view, to try to force someone else to abandon their beliefs to conform to yours, but not really all that bad.
But now the narrative has moved the goalposts again. Now just getting acceptance is not enough for those in the gay/lesbian/alternative lifestyle, now they are trying to force APPROVAL down everyone's throat. Think about the pro athletes that decline to participate in wearing jerseys celebrating- they get ripped to shreds by the liberal media, on social media, by political leaders. They inundate TV and radio with Pride Month, and if you say anything against it you are crucified as a hateful bigot. Don't ask, don't tell is not okay now. Live and let live is no longer acceptable, you must accept, approve, support.
Do whatever you want with your private parts as long as it is with consenting adults, but don't expect me to approve and support your choices. There is no reason for me to be forced into that. That seems like a perfectly acceptable way to go about life.
