Last week a family of four in Kellogg, ID was killed when (allegedly) one of the young men exposed himself to the accused killer’s young child.
This type of behavior, particularly with regards to interaction with children, is so offensive to so many people that it will not surprise me in the least to see a repeat of the Kellogg incident.
However intellectually, philosophically or politically expedient it may be to accuse those who are on the other side of this matter as bigoted, understand that traditional lines of appropriate behavior around kids are non-negotiable to many.
This guy is lucky he didn’t get capped.

Let's take a look at the evolution of this. Gays used to hide their orientation, and a lot of times I am sure they saved themselves some harassment by doing so. Then the argument became one of equal rights, that they should not be discriminated upon in housing, employment, etc, along with having the right to visit and make health decisions for their partner.
So the gay/lesbian community got that, and then the narrative shifted from equal rights to acceptance. They wanted all people to accept them and not voice any disapproval of that life style/orientation. Not exactly right in my view, to try to force someone else to abandon their beliefs to conform to yours, but not really all that bad.
But now the narrative has moved the goalposts again. Now just getting acceptance is not enough for those in the gay/lesbian/alternative lifestyle, now they are trying to force APPROVAL down everyone's throat. Think about the pro athletes that decline to participate in wearing jerseys celebrating- they get ripped to shreds by the liberal media, on social media, by political leaders. They inundate TV and radio with Pride Month, and if you say anything against it you are crucified as a hateful bigot. Don't ask, don't tell is not okay now. Live and let live is no longer acceptable, you must accept, approve, support.
Do whatever you want with your private parts as long as it is with consenting adults, but don't expect me to approve and support your choices. There is no reason for me to be forced into that. That seems like a perfectly acceptable way to go about life.

(1) A person is guilty of indecent exposure if he or she intentionally makes any open and obscene exposure of his or her person or the person of another knowing that such conduct is likely to cause reasonable affront or alarm. The act of breastfeeding or expressing breast milk is not indecent exposure.(2)(a) Except as provided in (b) and (c) of this subsection, indecent exposure is a misdemeanor.
(b) Indecent exposure is a gross misdemeanor on the first offense if the person exposes himself or herself to a person under the age of fourteen years.

I’m struggling with 2 things here. First, how does “gay pride” connect with public nudity? It seems counterproductive for people who ‘just want to be treated like everyone else’ do walk around with their dicks out.

Couldn’t tell you. Apparently their were ongoing issues with the oldest kid exposing himself. Unlike the Seattle fountain guy, the facts will have to come out in trial.
I don’t know about those parades, but I’m going to say that most people who attend are going for the parade and have some idea what’s going to be in it. They’re watching from at least a short distance. You don’t take your kids to a public park to play in the fountain expecting them to share it with a bunch of naked dudes.
