Kayak, I have to fix this comment. In the Bible Belt, football IS religion for about 4 months of the year. I lived in OK and TX for most of my 20's, and one iron clad rule was that if your client was a friend, there were only 3 serious topics of discussion at lunch: football, politics and religion. And depending upon the time of year and the election cycle, they were pretty much interchangeable.
