Wasn't pretty but a win is a win. PSU is a pretty good team and played really hard. Lot of older experienced players. Yesufu and Darling were in street clothes. No idea why. I think part of our problem is that Houinsou and Yesufu are so different at the point. We only got the better of them when we went to a 2-3 zone late in the game.

Announcer said PSU returned 9 players so they are doing something right. Jones dominated, Rice was really good again, Jakimovksi struggled shooting in this one.

Can't remember what injury Yesufu had, but Darling's is a back issue. Way too much one-on-one when Houinsou is dribbling. Actually way to much dribbling period. Good thing Rice and even more so Jones was spot on.

Cluff looked totally lost

Yesufu was, is INJURED, and while Yesufu hasn't been productive, he helps lead, calm, stabilize, and is a good ball handler, that doesn't turn ball over, that dishes out assist, gets everybody else involved. Kind of like how Cameron Dollar(ABOUT 3.5 PPG, 3.5 Assist per game) was at UCLA. So that's why altho Kymany is ok as a PG, Point Wing, can pass it well, etc, that's why he and rest of team had ABOUT 13 turnovers, and about 9 UNFORCED turnovers.

Darling was, is also injured and so now there has been 3,4 injuries so far this season.

PSU played a GOOD game. BUT WSU didn't shoot well from Freethrow line, had about 8,9 UNFORCED turnovers, got OUT REBOUNDED by a MUCH SMALLER PSU team, and PSU made about 3,4 ABSOLUTE DESPERATION MIRACLE HEAVE MAKES. One of which was a desperation made BANKED 3, and shot about 59% to 63% from 3 early game to end of first half.

Take away the early PSU hot 3 point shooting, bad freethrow shooting by WSU, the 8,9 UNFORCED TURNOVERS by WSU, WSU getting OUT REBOUNDED by a SMALLER PSU team, THE LACK OF HUSTLE(WSU player just stood there watching a loose ball, instead of diving on floor for it while PSU player dived, got the loose ball.). Take away all that and WSU would have won by 20 to 25 to 30 points, instead of winning a close game by 10 points.

BUT WSU learned how to win a close one against a good PSU team, when they had injuries, and when they weren't playing as good.

And that's what good teams do, find ways to win, win ugly, etc, instead of getting upset, instead of losing a game they should win.

And a win is a win is a win.

I'll take the win, even if it's ugly looking at times.

Right on, except for Cluff. Cluff scored semi regularly, occasionally on some nice POST UP MOVES.

Without that scoring from Cluff, WSU would have lost.

I only have one comment to make. Coach Smith is the first basketball coach in WSU history to post a winning record each season. Then I look in the stands and seats are empty. He deserves better

Yesufu was out with a mild toothache. :)
