Six years since Mr. Moos massively upgraded his alma mater's athletics facilities and pulled the plug on Seattle after 11 games between 2002 and 2014.

Would you be open to returning as part of a long-term deal with the Beavers where the game is anchored at the Seahawks stadium similar to Oklahoma-Texas in Dallas, Florida-Georgia in Jacksonville and Arkansas-Texas A&M in Arlington?

WSU can easily guarantee six games every fall in Pullman with the current 9-game conference schedule format.

Why not play the "Emerald City Showdown" every year — and instead of an uninspiring non-conference match-up — have WSU and OSU square off in one of the West Coast's more underrated rivalries?

This could really turn into something great and also be a revenue generator,

Dry Side and Wet Side Cougs, what do you think?

No. There never should have been a conference game in Seattle, and there never should be again.

Based on the general turnout and success, and the trend for both, of the 10 games after 2002, there should not be any regular games in Seattle. If there was one every 3-5 years, maybe. But not as an annual event.

NO ! No league games should ever be moved from Pullman. I am semi OK with a non Conference game being played in Seattle in the years the AC is in Pullman. The caveat for me is Seattle has to get it’s $hit together and the city needs to be clean and safe. Otherwise I will never travel to or go there ever again.

Thanks for all the responses — pretty clear which way opinions are trending.

I guess I was looking at a “Seattle Game” as a legit big money maker (think major annual sponsor) for the participating schools and as a way to expedite completion of the New IPF.

That and possibly expanding Martin Stadium seem like the last pieces to the Football Facilities puzzle.

I'm actually ok with the idea of us hosting a non-conference game in Seattle on years where Pullman would otherwise host seven home games. When you look at attendance in 2019, we played in front of 6,000 empty seats in the first two games of the season. San Jose State had 7,000 empty seats with people planning to make it to the other six games.

It should never be a conference game....ever. At this point, 2024 is the first year that it makes sense. Labor Day game against Portland State. Close enough to get some of their fans to drive up but we'll still beat them (lord knows that I could never live with myself if we ever lost to a school like that ;)).

I'd go along with that. An 8th game in Pullman isn't likely to do much. In that instance, a non-conference game in Seattle, especially on Labor Day weekend, would be tolerable.

Maybe a better venue would be Ellensburg

How about a late season pattsie/directional school in mid to late November SEC style The Saturday before Thanksgiving when no one us in Pullman.

I don't know Ed.

Let's get that flashy New IPF up and running before devoting any funds to a 80,000-seat (or whatever has been drawn up) football/international soccer stadium in Kittitas County.

Still not convinced giving up one home game every OTHER year while having six or possibly even seven games in Pullman isn't worth an opportunity to earn an extra $1-2 million annually while playing in the largest WSU-friendly market this side of Spokane-Coeur d"Alene and perhaps the Tri-Cities.

Never find a better time to cut a deal with a friendly rival as OSU is currently bleeding red ink.

Doesn't everyone want the New IPF sooner rather than later?

Open minded since students may be on break. Apple Cup?

Cool tradition? Paint the town Crimson. Bring on the Fuskies

Maybe run the idea past the owners of restaurants and hotels in Pullman first. I checked into the Marriott in April and there were 2 guests. I was in the Holiday Inn in May and just slightly better. When people finally get back to Pullman, a lot of their favorite haunts may not be there, so before you cut off one more lifeline to the local economy, just factor that into the equation.

The largest WSU market of fans that wouldnt go when they had it?

Newsflash, they wont go in the future either.

You dont sink $60M+ into football facilities on your campus to move a home game. Some schools can, some schools cannot. WSU needs every bit of the home field advantage in Pullman. WSU needs every single home game it can get to host recruits.

Maybe WSU should put more effort into getting the smallest stadium in the league packed before it chases fools gold in the Puget Sound?

If shipping off home games to neutral fields 6 hours away from campus was the path to success, surely every team in the league would be doing it right?

I’ve thought this for years. His posts body of work reflect this.

Pretty sure he is. When my bringing it up goes stale he gets more aggressive with the posts bringing up sore topics and things designed to make WSU / Pullman look bad. It's just hard to comprehend wanting to waste that much time on something so inconsequential.

I like the idea of an occasional non league game in Seattle. Maybe vs. BYU or Wisconsin on the upcoming schedule. I would have been OK playing Houston there this season.

Troll because he suggested a way to bring in additional income ? Interesting

Loathe to waste time on this with you, Ed, but no, he seems to be a troll in view of a pattern of posts over the course of several years in which he asks questions designed to explore unflattering topics and lead to responses that make the school, Pullman, our athletic program, our AD, the President, whoever our coach is at the time, and/or our fans look bad, interspersed with enough intermittent "Go Cougs" kinds of stuff and posts with ostensibly genuine motives to fool people like you. The post here is a decent example. There have been many others over the years that are much worse. As I wrote, it gets more brazen when he hasn't been called out on it in a while. He'll likely be brazen now, not only in spite of the call-out but in view of it, knowing that there are guys like you who not only can't figure it out but are questioning it. To address it preemptively, no, I don't lose sleep over this or spend a lot of time burning mental cycles on stuff like this. It's obvious.

I’ve never spent 1 second on a uw site. I can’t imagine wasting my time like that but I get what you are saying about the vibe he puts out.

I wanted to follow up my prior comment and say that although I wouldn't be opposed to moving an OOC game to Seattle when the circumstances are right, I'm also fine with the idea of just leaving things alone. The only thing that I can say to the fans on this board that don't like the idea of a game in a Seattle is this: If you live within driving distance of Pullman (around five hours or less) and you don't make it to at least one of the OOC games in the fall when we only have 26,000-27,000 fans in the stadium......you are part of the problem and not the solution. Everybody's got an excuse for why they don't go, but if fans don't care enough to fill the stadium, we can't be mad at the administration when they start considering options. I will say that I don't know that there have even been any recent discussions on the issue.

Of course, this year, we're just hoping that people are allowed to come at all....

Or another way to look at it possibly more insecure .

Don't project your own inability to think critically on others. Further, it is funny when a guy too insecure to write what he means, and instead pussyfoots around the way you do, tries to imply someone else is insecure on any topic.

The pattern from Pete is pretty clear, especially when there are slips once in a while. Not everyone is dense, Ed.
