C&G game

Through the first quarter, I’m not impressed. Some of the play designs have promise, but execution isn’t there. QB numbers are solid (Ward 7/10, Mateer 5/6), but it feels overly scripted.
Hoping they settle in better as it goes on, maybe it gets more organic.

Colorado Portal Movement

So, this is going to be a fascinating development in Boulder.

In what has been regarded as the greatest “TEAM” sport ever. Can you construct in a short amount of time a winning football program/formula with transfers and high-level talent?

This approach has not been able to take hold in the NFL despite years and years of Free Agency. The closest all-in roster construct attempt was with the 2011 Philadelphia Eagles and their "DREAM TEAM" attempt.

You could say once Bill Snyder got things somewhat into a plug-N-play flow at K-State, he was doing this type of constructing with JUCO kids’ year-in-year out.

The loaded-up 5-Star rosters in Lexington hasn't done a lot in college hoops over the last 10yrs.

This is going to be very interesting watch and challenge some of the foundation principles of building a winner in the sport of Big Time College Football.

Who is this guy? Our Tier 3 baseball play by play...

Play by Play announcer for Baseball, when we stream on Pac-12 Plus, (no broadcast TV).

It's not Chaz.

It's not Greg Heister.

This guy, (right now on game 3 at home against Santa Clara).....this guy NEVER, EVER SAYS HIS NAME!

Why do I ask?

He's a true professional.

For baseball, I personally like him better than Chaz and Heister. Heister is good for basketball.....but this guy, who is he? He's not even listed in the WSU Baseball Staff Directory. I've been listening to him since the start of the season.

And....what's up with never saying your name? Never. Crazy.

Anyone know?

What's he doing here? He can easily work the minors, IMO.

Perhaps he prefers to be private, never says his own name?!

Watched the C and G game last night

Olines looked more athletic . I am wondering how the senior transfer Christy N is feeling about being second team with just his senior year left .

The kid who surprised me on the oline was Lester the walk-on. He will get a scholie and he will play at some point at wsu . Nice pick up .

Wr as a group look like huge upgrade. Smithson looks to be pressing . Nunally has made strides.

Rb will be fine .

I think corner is in good shape. I was surprised by the play of the linebackers . I thought they would be further along.

D tackles may be a season long concern . As will nickle and a safety position .

USFL

So I’m flipping through the channels and land on the Memphis/Birmingham game. Two names I recognize immediately pop up—Ted Haley and Skip Holtz. So I dig through the the rosters and it’s got some big names: Kevin Sumlin, Mike Riley, Todd Haley

So I look for Cougs.

NJ Generals: Destiny Vaeao, Shalom Luani

That’s it. Lots of Oregon and USC players.

OK Sorry, more OT - kid violence

Ok, WTF is wrong with this country of ours? Within a week, black kid gets shot for knocking on the wrong door. White 20 year old girl gets killed because they drove up the wrong road. 4 kids (and counting) killed at a sweet 16 party. Now two cheerleaders get shot because one of them opened the door to the wrong car.

Just today, two women got into a fistfight at my local dog park because one dog was humping the other and the humpee owner kicked the humper.

We are so f-ed up as a nation.

NFL Draft - Potential #1 Pick

Slow news time for the Cougs right now, it seems. Mainly posting this for this one reason ... look at the quotes near the end, when Fitterer starts talking about how the team "nutritionally can do some things to educate" Young. You really think in today's day and age, a prospect like Young doesn't know about nutrition or didn't get all he could handle on the topic from Saban and Bama? Even your everyday gym bro knows about how to eat to put on muscle. It's all rationalization, not that Young may not turn out to be great at the NFL level. I'd rather have Stroud. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/36226200/panthers-gm-says-told-anybody-no-1-pick

off topic Bud Light

Don't drink it, so doesn't really matter to me. However one key to expanding your market is, first of all don't alienate your current customers. We can debate if they are right or wrong, but their marketing person does not understand a lot of their customer base. Time will tell, but it doesn't look good in week one.

OK - last OT - California lake

OK so this is nuts. Tulare lake (wherever the hell that is) was the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi before the farmers. etc. drained it dry and turned the lakebed into farmland? WTH? Now it's back and they are freaking out? Reap what you sow, I say. Thank Gawd wee have the Snake and Columbia running through our state.
