COVID

Just move to SF, man. Or, more seriously, something like Colorado (if wanting a blue-purple mix) or Texas (red state government, lots of blue and purple areas like the Austin area I'm in). No state income tax and, until you get fairly far outside of the metro area, none of the stuff you're talking about. Pretty good mix of views in the context of what I'd consider a good culture and environment relative to many places.

Whenever one is in an extreme area, one experiences that ... extremes. Of course it seems nuts, since it is. I've spent a fair amount of time in the paradigmatic opposite location of what you're describing in Kansas and, unsurprisingly, there were a lot of extreme views and positions on a lot of things that I could spend all day complaining about on here, too. The broader issue is a general lack of empathy and an us/them mentality on both "sides." "Let's come together" only is the message on either side when someone is trying to get something (money, votes, power).

Spokane is fairly purple (not Husky purple!) which suits me just fine. Now the west side, way too blue for me.

Income and education are a big part of it......but the GOP lives off of appealing to poor white people by suggesting that there wouldn't be as many problems if we didn't have all that minority trash in the inner cities causing problems and dirty, rapey immigrants coming into our country to destroy us. If you don't believe that....you ain't paying attention. I know plenty of poor white trash that vote Republican because they have bought into the idea that it's us vs them.

To be fair, democrats are guilty of establishing policies that make people feel that they are selling out "middle" America to appeal to minorities.

And the Democrats live off making everything about race. Democrats don’t even bother with policy any more. It’s culture war.

Democrats are guilty of perpetuating policies that keep people poor.

I'm just running out the string before I retire. We are planning to move to a warmer climate when we get to retirement age. If I didn't have a great job working for a great company, I'd be gone already.
Don’t move to Florida...

So back to football if the opponent comes out with 3 lineman and a bunch of 150 lb DBs, what do you do? Stack 8 in the box what do you do?
Rs are so outwardly racist, why the hell wouldn’t they?

Pretty terrible analogy.

Plenty of Biden voting racists play man and blitz.

I absolutely agree that neither party is blameless. In so many ways, it's the greatest time to be alive but for whatever reason, people have to ruin it. I'm happy to go home, hang out with the wife on the nights she isn't working and playing on my PS4 Pro on the nights she's at work. (Old dude but young at heart). It's frustrating to sit back and watch sheeple on the left and right let politicians delude them into ripping our country apart.

10, TEN MILLION CASES.

**Why are you using this data. Reputable and widely agreed upon sources place it at 17 million

300K DEAD

**Again, not high enough. Update you figures

A 2.65% Mortality Rate.

**Actually, since you using US figure, it's lower...less than 2%
FLU:

About 2 to 4 million cases

**A typical flu season can have 30-60 million cases

About a 1.35% Mortality rate.

**Wrong again....by a factor of 10! Flu mortality is typically around 0.1%

Approximate Mortality rate of random assorted things like car wrecks, getting hit by lightning, etc:

About 500k to 1 million dead a year, and about a .65 to .75% mortality rate.

**Are you suggesting 500,000 to a million people a year are dying because of random things like lightning and car accidents?

Covid is only about twice as bad as the FLU.

**Again, Wrong. In 2017-18 approximately 60,000 died from the flu. Even using your numbers covid is 5 times worse, and that was a particularly bad flu season

2 Extremes:

1. Covid is nothing. False.

2. Covid is as bad as Bubonic Black Plague. False.

**No one reputable has ever claimed it was. Strawman. The main comparisons are to SARS and the spanish flu

Covid is something, not nothing. Is Serious. But it is EXAGGERATED by mostly Liberal Democrats, so that they can continue to do lockdowns or they the liberal democrats do lockdowns because of ignorance.
**Another ridiculous statement. Have you considered that the first lockdown occurred in the areas, cities, state's that had the worst outbreaks making lockdowns necessary? Do you really b3lieve "liberal democrats" want to do lockdowns just because. Do you think it was politically beneficial for Inslee in an election year to hamper the economy like that? Do you also forget that the conservative Republican of Ohio like DeWine was one of the first governor's to impose a pretty strict lockdown. And, just because conservative Republican governors didn't, doesn't mean they shouldn't have

Also you touch on something:

HYPOCRISY, FAVORITISM, DISCRIMINATION:

According to the locking down liberal democrats:

1. Its ok for:

A. Protest, riots, spreading the virus.

**Not okay, but not sure how you were supposed to enforce thousands and even tens of thousands of protectors out in the streets

B. For Casinos to have 500 to 2000 people shoulder to Shoulder gambling, spreading the virus.

**agree with this

C. Super Big Box Retailer's to be JAMMED PACKED

**That was never okay in Washington according to the guidlines

2. But its NOT ok for:

A. Sing with mask on at Church

B. Go to church with more then 25 to 50 at church even with using Covid Safety Protocols.

**It was okay, many churches just decided on other options. I know mine did.

C. Small Businesses, can only have 25 to 50, an or only have pick up, no dining in, an or must close

**agree to a point, but mostly just on the second lockdown. The first one made sense based off what we knew at the time

D. Gyms must close.

E. Cant hike the PCT Pacific Coast Trail, and similar, even tho your the only one out there, no chance of covid spread.

**don't know about that. Centennial trail in Spokane was never shut down, nor were parks. PCT might be a specific federal lands or state park restriction

Anyway, you seem wildly misinformed. Taihtsat

Only about 1 out of 8 to 50 republicans, conservatives, are like what your saying, racist.

Only about 1 out of 3,4,5,6, do wrongly pander to the 1 out 6,7,8,9 to 50 that are racist.

And yes even that little needs to stop.

Part of the reason why your sating what your saying, is because there probably are a lot of republican, conservative racist LIVING AROUND, CLOSE, NEAR YOU, OR WITHIN YOUR CIRCLE OF ASSOCIATION, INFLUENCE, ETC.

Just because you know, or have rant into a lot of republican, conservative racist, etc, doesnt mean a lot of the rest of the conservatives, republicans are racist elsewhere in the country.

The vast Majority of Conservatives, Republicans just want immigrants to come to the USA LEGALLY INSTEAD OF ILLEGALLY, and want the illegal immigrants that do commit crimes(NOT SAYING THAT ALL ILLEGALS ARE BAD, COMMIT CRIME), get deported.

And we dont want illegals to get freebies, illegally, fraudently vote, etc.

And as far as minorities in innercities, we just want the problem fixed. AKA for the Inner City Chicago problems to be fixed.(most of the inner city Chicago problems are by minorities, because 7,8,9 out of 10 there are minorities, because of cycle of Poverty, etc, not because of race)(saying that is not racist.)

We want to stop Black on Black Violence in Innercity Chicago and other places.

Its just that we disagree with Liberals, democrats on about solutions, and because of that the media, liberals, democrats spin that into we conservatives, republicans are supposedly racist, and you buy into that hook, line, and sinker.

How do you come up with these figures? "1 out of 8 to 50"? WTF? "Only about 1 out of 3,4,5,6 do wrongly pander to 1 out of 6,7,8,9 to 50"? This is total gibberish. YOU don't get to just make up your own data-base.

Your favorite for president pandered using racism, anti-minority and ethnic-difference language to gain popularity and win the GOP nomination. And then he doubled-down throughout his failed presidency. Trump may not be a racist, but it doesn't really matter, because his actions and words effectively have the same affect. And with that he gained 47% of the electorate which was almost about 74 million votes. So while trump supporters or Republican voters may not be racist, AT BEST they are turning a blind eye to it and choosing to ignore it in their candidates for higher office. Taihtsat

Physician, heal thyself.

Turning a blind eye to 47 years of Joe Biden's racist behaviors and associations is pretty comical, too.

Kamela didn't in the debates.

Do you claim there is an equivalence between Biden's and trumps "rascism"? No distinction? No difference? Or was one more pronounced and central to their identity as a candidate? Taihtsat

There is a huge contingent that believes part of the problem going in in America is that stuff is too good, so we are finding shit to be pissed about. Interestingly, the social unrest of the 60s followed the idyllic boon of post-war 50s America. (Yes, i realize race was still broken in the 50s)

Ignore 47 years if you'd like. Joe's vice president didn't.

Record numbers of blacks and hispanics voting for Trump indicate the mainstream narrative wasn't entirely forthright.

Agree to an extent. But you ignored all my questions for clarification of your position. Taihtsat

Please point out specific examples of Trump's racism and we'll lay them out on a grid side by side, ok?

Or are you relying completely on the sound bite related to Charlottesville?

Do you want to compare policies they’ve supported or a few soundbites taken out of context?

Biden started calling the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 the Biden Crime Bill. So, he literally is superimposing his name on legislation that lead to mass incarceration for Black Americans.

Biden’s whole platform is running for president because of “what happened at Charlottesville.”

Well, that and Trump single handedly caused a global pandemic.

And he's mean.

I was preparing for a fascist dictatorship, destruction of the Constitution, a military coup and a dystopian future. And all that happened was mean tweets and a tax cut.

You are aware of his vitriol towards Mexican immigrants being rapists and drug smugglers. Telling 4 women or color...and only women of color to go back to the countries they came from, his attacksmon Elijah Cummings and baltimore, his good people on both side's statement his cases of discriminatory housing practices in NY and his birtherism narrative to name a few. He did most of these thungs either to gain politiczl support or while president. Good luck

So, what else? You can assume I don’t watch MSNBC.
Im beginning to assume that you are not too well informed broadly on what im increasingly perceiving is one of your favorite presidents. Maybe you can correct me by listing what sources do inform you? Im open to correction. Taihtsat

He’s not. So that’s a swing and a miss.

Nobody can ever list specifics, just generalities based on news talking points.

I googled "Trump racist" and saw " he banned muslims, thats racist." Except muslim isnt a race, sooooo...

He said mean things about Mexican illegals... of course that was twisted to mean all Mexicans.

Of course theres the whole "China virus" issue... despite it having that designation from the WHO, and you know... Its from China.

Anyway, the game is on now. Fight amongst yourselves

So it’s soundbites rather than positions and policies.

Rumor is Joe’s first executive order will be banning people from 7-Elevens unless they have a slight Indian accent.

Still you just can't seem to answer the questions. Not difficult...or is it?
