Yeah hell they almost should require solar on new construction that has the right exposure. It has come a long, long way.
This is the solution. More Solar, keep it up with the wind, leave the dams alone. Sorry salmon. Speaking of which, is there still a pack of invasive sea lions down at the first Columbiaa River dam eating half the salmon?
Oh below is an article from 2020 where we can kill 700 of them over 5 years. Now is that happenng? And does sea lion taste like chicken? This article is worth a read, This Sharon Young of the Humane Society cracks me up. "kill these sea lions and more will just take their place". Well we can kill them too. "it's not going to make any difference". Hey Sharon go look at the picture at the top of the article - big fat sea lion chouzing on a salmon. But it will make no difference. Near the end of the article - Oregon fish and wildlife killed 33 sea lions in 2019, predation went from 25% to 7% to 2% over the next two years. But it isn't going to make any difference.
Edit: Speaking of solar, the far right Yakima County Commissioners put a moratorium on solar "farms". and I believe continues to fight against the state on it. They want to protect "farmland". Gawd if you saw the sagebrush and rattlesnake hills that the planners want to use for the state-approved project, there ain't ever going to be farming out there. Way in the middle of nowhere.
