Rodman

I know better, but had started to think about the lineup. Oh well, just the way it is.

I really think DJ's college career should end at WSU w/ Kyle Smith. That scenario literally is no longer possible.

it would have been nice that way.

But for a 5th year senior, no real heartburn if they want to hit the beaches of Hawaii or Florida or see some other part of the country.

Just don't pull a dick move like Noah and go to the UW.

I don't fault the players whatsoever including Noah (who is looking for his next stop). If DJ was offered a bag of cash or like you posted wants to hit the beach? That's his decision. It's his life after all. It still sucks!

What's more frustrating and disappointing to me, was, is DJ Rodman EARLIER saying, making a big production, show that supposedly he was supposedly going to Return to WSU/Smith, etc.

If he was going to leave, then why tell everyone that your going to return, and make such a big deal, show, production out of it.

It would have been better, if he doesn't make that kind of announcement, and then leave.

The other thing that's hard about this is Rodman's SEMI LATER announcement he was leaving instead of announcing EARLIER, puts Smith/WSU between a rock and a hard place as far as harder to try to replace him now.

If Rodman had announced earlier, or if had unofficially told Smith earlier that he was probably leaving, then Smith would have more time, easier time trying to find, get a replacement for BOTH of Bamba and Rodman.

Yes Smith found a replacement for Bamba in that Wells and Rodman and Kymany were going to replace Bamba.

But now Wells and Kymany alone without Rodman might not be able to replace Bamba. And now on top of that have to replace Rodman in addition to Bamba.

And now because of the late announcement of Rodman, good luck to Smith replacing Rodman.

Maybe Carlos will have a hard time finding even a worse place to go and return via Smith's open door, but Carlos has probably already found a place, probably won't return.

Bamba, Rodman, Carlos, and Gueye being about 59% to about 67% to stay in draft.

The sky is not falling, fat lady not singing yet on WSU/Smith as far as this coming season, but its not looking good, if Smith, WSU don't catch a break and either have Gueye return, or Smith find a replacement for Rodman, Gueye.

It seems like WSU might have trouble fielding a team with all the transfers, but I’m sure there are players in the works that we don’t even know about yet.

Also Rodman leaving in addition to Bamba makes Wells more important now.

Hope Wells is everything that advertised and then some, or it's going to be even worse for WSU/Smith.

Smith can't seem to Catch a break, as either LOTS of injuries happen, or lots of players leave for NIL, etc, via portal, and then when Smith MIRACULOUSLY replaces the lots that leave, then even more injuries, an or others leave, something else bad happens. Smith can't seem to catch a break, from this non stop crap happening.

Oh Well, it is what it is.

The portal and NIL have made me much more cynical about college athletics. I don't trust anyone's commitments or statements anymore. I'm almost assuming the entire team will transfer and then rejoice if someone decides to come back. Bottom line: I'm probably getting too old for this sea change in college sports.

Glad Cougar

I agree with Glad but I think the answer about Rodman may well be the same thing that happened to the EWU transfer who never showed up. Rodman was going to Grad school wasn't he? Perhaps he didn't get a score that qualified him for Murrow.

Grad school is a possibility. If that's the case it’s totally understandable he would look for other options. We dodged a bullet with Aiken. On the other extreme with Rodman.

In my view the portal is going to ruin college sports (football and basketball at least). Don't see the NIL as a real problem. Very few players will see anything from it.

NIL money in LA is a little bit more than in Pullman.

Rodman and Bronny will cash in as famous sons. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see them together in a commercial.

Hay for 100K for one season of basketball I would sure go back to my home area. Only regret I have about Rodman is that we never got to see Dennis in Pullman.

We lived Dennis Rodman in Pullman in the late 70's/early 80's.

The kids today just don't know.
