It was a crazy situation during a very messed up time socially. I reluctantly got the vaccine because of the reasons you stated above. As a traveling salesman, I had to get the vaccine to keep my job.
What stoked (and continues to stoke) the flames for a lot of us is that the rules only apply to certain demographics. People were forced to get the vaccination at the same time when stores were being looted daily and immigrants were pouring into the Country illegally without vaccine requirements. Children were forced to get the vaccine, and schools were still being shut down. 2 generations of graduating seniors had their high school experiences ruined.
I'm not as boxed into my political leanings as some of you are. I'm disgusted by what I've watched unfold in America. Double standard management is the fastest way to implode any organization, and over the past 5-7 years, we've witnessed an unprecedented meltdown at multiple levels of our National leadership agencies. Federal, State, K-12 school unions, colleges & universities, homeland security, NIAID, social media (twitter), mainstream media (Fox News, CNN, etc.), law enforcement. We're being lied to repeatedly and nobody knows how to get their arms around it.

There’s a few key differences between Trump and those other former presidents.
1. They didn’t lie every single day.
2. They were never caught on tape saying that they could grab women by the pussy with no repercussion.
3. They never said that they could shoot someone in downtown New York and his constituents would support him.
4. They never conspired to install a set of fake electors to bypass the results of an election.
5. They were never caught on tape trying to blackmail a foreign leader into producing dirt on a political opponent.
The other presidents weren’t perfect and I disagreed with some of their actions or statements, but I wasn’t ashamed by their ignorance, antipathy and incompetence on a daily basis. The above is the short list that could be tripled in length with no effort.

Bill Clinton is a vile human being. Every bit as bad as Trump. The man raped women and his wife smeared them to cover it up. There’s a lot more than that, but there’s no need to revisit it.
Trump is an awful, pig of a person, but don’t for a second discount was Bill and Hilary are about.
If people would quit either leading or tying in Trump on virtually every argument, the so-called 'whataboutism' would go away.

I'm no Bill Clinton fan and Hillary is a slimeball politician that the Democrats should be embarrassed to have nominated. That does not excuse Donald Trump. Trump supporters continue to believe that if someone hates Trump, they love the Clintons and that just isn't the case. it's ok to acknowledge and dislike politicians from both parties. The argument that Trump is acceptable because Bill Clinton was president is not particularly compelling. It's like saying that murdering your spouse should be ok because OJ was found not guilty in the 90's.
And for what it's worth, as much of a slimeball as Bill Clinton was....it's objectively obvious that Donald Trump is truly a far worse human being. Clinton was guilty of being unethical on many occasions, but at least we could go a month at times without him making a mockery of himself and our country. Trump made an ass out of himself on a daily basis. So, I agree that Clinton was a scumbag, but that just really highlights how absolutely terrible that Trump truly is.
FWIW, I am willing to acknowledge that Trump was right about some things and he did some things that needed to be done...but then again....Clinton was President the last time that our country actually operated without a budget deficit....so even terrible Presidents get some things right. Doesn't make me want Clinton or Trump back.

Actually, Trump was recorded making a “perfect” phone call to Georgia asking them to “find some votes”. Sounds like he worked through those bone spurs and was actively involved. Gotta admit that your point is valid overall though. He’s a master at signaling what he wants and getting his minions to do the dirty work.

If any kind of deciding factor is the way you feel about any of them, you might be narcissistic enough to check that box on the list of presidential qualifications.

Maybe a very small but significant difference is the other folks when they got caught in a lie they would give some sort of “got me”.
