Shit political thread. Stop it!

I was in the stands - as I have been for nearly every home game since 1991 - and I don’t think Ward is what he was sold as. He has brief flashes of good play, separated by long stretches of no production, pockmarked with bad decisions.
What was he sold as? He was an FCS transfer. I think he had an offer from Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss, but it's not like the blue bloods were lining up.

Not many posters on here have mentioned the play of the offensive line, and that, particularly the erratic center snaps, are the biggest issue we have on offense currently.

I have repeatedly. He way too often has 2-3 guys in his face as soon as the ball is snapped (see every game last season). I think he’s amazing and we’d be screwed without him. The backup college QB is way too often the most popular player on the team.

Let it f-ing go. The pandemic is over. Why do you continue to whine about this? Let it go. Move on. WTF is wrong with you? Don't even answer.
Awesome man. Nothing wrong with me. You're the one(s) getting worked up. My guess... eat more fiber

I'm a fan of Dickert. I'm also a fan of people that don't force fake vaccines.

I still think Rolo was 100% in the right to reject taking the shots.

I think states that we're opening up were a hell of a lot smarter than the ones who stayed shut.

To this day... there hasn't been 1 single person out there that can say/show that Rolo Rejecting the vaccination hurt anyone... anything.

But again... I'm pro-Dickert and he's definitely doing a lot more great things than stupid things.

Lucky to have him vs. some of the other turd slices we could've had.
No problems with anyone who judges a coach on the merits, rather than a political agenda.

We haven't won against a Big 10 team other than bottom feeder Rutgers since 2001. And we split the Rutgers series. Now 2 in a row! Greatest non conference home win ever. Sadly this may have political overtones. I hope I'm wrong, but ask yourself, who is a Dickert fan among the anti-vax crowd?

I'm not anti anti-vax, just anti-doing unnecessary things for no good reason and being ruled by fear (you brought it up buddy).

I've already expressed my positive sentiments toward Dickert. I like how he communicates. That is a big key to me. He's a good coach. He's still learning (which will always be the case).

He had nothing to do with the unnecessary fear tactics and decisions used by our corrupt and mentally dull governor.

F. Give it a break buddy. How many years are you going to talk about the vaccine? And no he was not right. He was an f-ing idiot. As I've said numerous times, I have had 4 jabs - the J&J, 2 Pfizers and one Moderna. None of them hurt me, and damn glad I got them all. Rolo was a F-ing dipshit for refusing, and lost his $3M job because of his arrogance.

And yes the good news is we got Dickert. He's a keeper, I hope.

Rolo stood up for what he believed in, which is commendable and completely within his right to do.

What's really great about this thread is that it highlights how people let things that happened in the past poison their lives when those things are meaningless today. A friend of mine who was a season ticket holder for 20+ years dumped his season tickets to protest Chun and Schulz and was sitting at home instead of the stands on Saturday night. He missed one of the most impactful moments in WSU history because he's still busy throwing a pointless fit about stuff that happened three years ago.

Y'all still whining and complaining about COVID can keep doing it and keep focusing on it...or you could just try to enjoy a win that we weren't expected to get to enjoy. You have the opportunity to decide how you go through life and a lot of people are choosing unhappiness. I don't get that.

go find the posts you loud mouth asshat.

everyone welcome the newest troll and thread hijacker, trollsocal.
Wasn't it you, on the day after one of WSU's greatest wins, particularly under the circumstances, started the thread which clearly was the reason for this thread, which is effectively a complaint about you.

Afraid to ask, but...

We all know that this is par for the course for you, since Dickert became coach. I wanted to test whether you, your reactions, and threads, were agenda driven or legitimate non-agenda based criticism. You aren't assute enough, apparently, to realize it was an obvious set up, and you exposed yourself for what you are, unfairly biased. Let it go, it is time to move on -- judge Jake Dickert fairly, on the merits, not based on a warped political prism.

You could start by waiting until we lose, not after we beat a nationally ranked Big 10 opponent, before starting a thread which ends -- "Am I being too critical?" It would, at least, suggests some level of fairness on your part.

find my criticism of CJD. Anywhere on this entire site.

Or stfu. And retract your statement, which anyone with balls would do but you're clearly a coward and a troll and a moron who lacks reading comprehension. If anything, its a criticism on Arbuckle/ Ward since, you know, it was a question about the offense and CJD is a defense guy, but hey... go ahead a write your own narrative.

Again, find anywhere on this site where I've been critical at all of CJD directly, not by your interpretation.

Two additional things made this game a little more comfortable than it should have been:
1) the new rules with the running clock def made it easier to shorten the game and hold the lead down the stretch
2) fickle was mistaken to NOT use his 2 TO when we had the ball with 3+ minutes left. He let an additional 1+ minute needlessly slip away. You can always stop the clock on offense. While on defense you need to use your TO's for that. Thank you, Luke! That's all I have to say about that.
Agree on both points.

Quit projecting dude.

To be fair, Cougini5991 was initially the only one that was wasting energy trying to fight the anti-vax fight...and I wish that other people weren't trolling to draw him out. We all need to quit focusing and worrying about what happened in 2020. Like I said, I have a friend who is denying himself the ability to enjoy Cougar football out of spite. It just sucks that people want to argue about the past on something so dumb.

Have to agree that overall, our HC did better than their HC.

Krusty, I agree with your clock statement. That works the same for both teams, and there will prob be a game when it hurts us as much as it helped last Saturday.

As for Ward, he is streaky. We've seen a lot of streaky QB's. What Ward has that many have not is the ability to run like a TE. I think the single biggest factor in the offensive side of our win was his running...and the Wisconsin coaching staff's failure/refusal to alter their D strategy in any way, at any point in the game, to contain him. They went with the "pin your ears back and pass rush" strategy, and while our O line was far from perfect, they did a good job of directing the pass rushers away from the middle seam. I lost track of how many times Ward had a path forward with nobody in LB territory. He did not run all of them; in fact he completed a couple of passes with some pretty tempting open territory in front of him. And that, IMHO, shows that he is maturing. Not perfect, but definitely better than last year.

Call it what you want. I feel bad for him because he's become so bitter and angry that I rarely talk to him anymore. It's just not any fun to hear someone rail in anger about something that they have no ability to influence. It doesn't matter what any of us think about Chun or Schultz. Their future at WSU is not impacted by our feelings or opinions. All the "principle" in the world isn't changing that.

Did you just paraphrase Ben Shapiro? ;)

I've never knowingly or willingly read a single thing written by Ben Shapiro....so I wouldn't know how to paraphrase him. The glimpses that I've seen suggests that he's just a troll and that's why I don't find him worth my time. FWIW, I don't read liberal propaganda either.

See, that doesn't make much sense to me. Wazzu administrators had to follow that dumb power-hungry scared self-serving governor's demands. They had no real choice except to resign. But that wouldn't have changed the situation.

Tell that to our forefathers.

The 3rd quarter has been a problem for the Cougs, for the last few years, lots of reasons and excuses, but they need to clean it up. One bad quarter against several of the teams coming up will cost us the game. They came through in the 4th quarter, and actually found a running game in the last drive to seal the win. Needless to say, they need a more balanced attach, Ward can't do it all every game. I am sure they are all aware of what needs to be done, they just need to be able to do it.

True. CJD needs to work on his halftime speech apparently.

While I agree with the balanced attack part, we were up two scores at half with Wisconsin getting the ball. I knew this was game was going to get close and we weren’t going to blow their doors off. That said credit to the team for finishing and closing with a two score win which nobody expected.

Oh yea? Like the apple cup last year?
see post above. If you can’t tell the difference between 38-0 and that I don’t know what to tell you. Nothing from Dickert has come close to the 2nd half debacles of Rolo. Rolo sucked. He was on his way to getting fired anyways for his shitty coaching, the state mandate and his non-compliance just sped it up.
