With the TNF game last night this is getting a lot of buzz. What are your thoughts, good rule or dumb rule?

For me, if you fumble the ball through the end zone, out of the back of the end zone it’s a touchback. The end zone boundaries are the same all the way around to the goal line, so I think the rule should be consistent and this should be a touchback.

I think the touch back rule is the most penalizing rule in all of football. In this case if the ball is fumble out at the one, the keep the ball on the one, but since it went past the pilon, it's a touch back. If you fumble a ball forward you can't advance the ball, it goes back to the point of the fumble, yet on the goal line that rule is thrown out. If it's fumbled forward and out, you lose it. It's been on the books for years, it won't change, just take care of the ball, but it's tough to swallow if you were on offense.

I think college changed this rule, and now if you fumble out the end zone, you get the ball at the 1.
