Rather than do it through administrative channels, it was more important to embarrass Trump, to harm him politically, to make the point that the Swamp/Deep State is in charge and you better not mess with them.

Stretch … as Bill Barr said … Trump jerked then around . He was given 15 months to give them back . The FBI didn’t go in with the Seat team the first time . They went out , Trump had his attorney give an affidavit that all materials were given back. They gave Trump two more opportunities before the FBI took went and hit a judge to get a subpoena. Anyone else would have been in jail .

So they gave him plenty of time to comply and he chose not to .

Stretch.....yes...all these cases are because Trump has not done a thing illegal. I mean there have been what, 44 other Presidents and they managed to steer clear of the justice department. If he did nothing wrong in the January 6th case, why is he stalling? Let it go to trial and put on a defenses to why he did nothing for hours to keep the building safe. Any clue why he picked January 6th and didn't have his rally the 5th? ****Gee, do you think it was because the Electoral College votes were being certified that day. I agree with a two tiered justice system. Anyone else who did what Trump did would be in jail. He defrauded the banks, you know what happens if you lie to me on a loan application? You think you get to continue buying houses? You could serve up to 30 years in jail. It is a federal crime. ****Now you are just being stupid here. Do you know that the actual banks testified that they were NOT defrauded? Where is the victim? Where is the crime. Even folks like Mr Wonderful (Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary in case you didn't know) has said that that is exactly what every developer does. So if it is what every developer does, why is Trump the only one being prosecuted, especially when there is not a victim and there were ZERO damages. Have you never run into a difference of opinion on what a property is valued? I have. Selling my parents home after passing we hired an appraiser to use as a guide in negotiating a private sale to a neighbor. So the dipshit comes up with a value of $300,000, which we knew was bogus. We knew more about the market than he did, apparently, as we amicably agreed on a price of $375,000 with the neighbor. So how many years in jail should that appraiser be doing for defrauding us?

BTW, the applications by Trump's company are reported to be accompanied by a disclaimer saying that the values were their opinion and were not to be relied on without doing their own research. Isn't that what banks always do? Don't they have their own in-house expects to do just that very thing? So how the Hell does all that add up to almost $400 million in penalties? That is simply insane. BTW, your "anyone else would be in jail" is obviously proven to be false simply by looking at two names- Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton. Both had illegal possession of Classified documents and were NOT indicted, while Trump had a special prosecutor assigned. So here is a question for you, regarding why Trump doesn't just go to court and get off- How fair of a trial do you think he will get in DC with a DEMO judge and a jury from a pool that voted 95% for Biden?

The documents case.... not sure what world you live in. The archives just wanted them back. That's all. They just wanted them back. If he felt he had a claim, give them back and then note which ones he thought were his and work the system that way. But no...even his AG said he created this problem. That he moved them around and hid them. He was subpoenaed and still didn't give them back. ****I really dislike doing a lot of "whataboutism", but in cases like this it is unavoidable. So once again we go back to the Hillary Clinton case. Except she didn't just have stuff that was under subpoena, she took action to electronically and physically destroy the evidence, not just refuse to give it up. Democrat, so no charges brought. He has said...he declassified them by just thinking about them. Not Biden's people, his own people said he did not declassify them. ****That is an argument to be made in court, and neither one of us knows the details of all the ways you can and cannot declassify a document, other than the president has the authority to declassify.

He is on tape talking about attack plans on Iran, and he says they weren't declassified. And this is the DOJ's issue. Garland should have already had the January 6th case tried, but didn't want to look political and started a year too late. ****Maybe that is the case, or maybe, just maybe, it is a really wild possibility.......all these cases against Trump were held to allow them all to be adjudicated during the exact same time that Trump would be busy running for president. Naaaaah- that would never happen, would it. LOL

So yeah, the fact he is able to delay every trial, and not show the world why he is not guilty of these charges tells me so much. But I get it stretch....Trump is being persecuted. When is a guy who was making 300k a year at age 3, had daddy bail him out twice, have the hard men and women in the trades help him build his real estate portfolio only to cure his debt problem by getting BK'ed off 4 separate times...when is a guy like that ever going to catch a break.. ****Actually, I think it was 6 times. Never personal, just different companies, almost all related to casinos in Atlantic City, IIRC.

Throw Biden in jail. Now that we have taken that off the table, can we do the same to Trump? ****Sure. Never mind any trial, appeals, or anything like that- just be like the local officials in Colorado and Maine and arbitrarily declare him guilty. Nothing wrong with that approach.
