Who’s going to be the guest picker?

Moos, for all the haters, we’re not in this position without the Leach hire and FB upgrades.
A special shoutout to Prez Floyd.

I would love Moos to do it, but it would be weird for a sitting AD to be on College GameDay for another school.

For the last 7 years I defended Leach and Moos while the program was getting rebuilt, and while most people have come around the few idiots that were obnoxious during that time SHOULD....SHOULD be ashamed of themselves. They were idiots and honestly too stupid to realize that their crappy attitude was part of the problem holding WSU back all these years.

But that is something they will have to live with for the rest of their lives knowing that they were terribly wrong, obnoxiously stupid, and pathetic.

It's a lot of fun enjoying the program and seeing it grow from the dumpster bin it was.

We could clinch our 4th bowl game in a row (1st time in history) this Saturday in front of College GameDay beating a ranked opponent with the Nation's leading passer in front of a beautifully renovated Martin Stadium and gorgeous Football ops building.

To think there were idiots who tried to fight that kind of progress and call themselves Cougs... What an embarrassment.

Personally, I think it will be Bledsoe. And that's cool, but let's not forget to somehow honor the legendary Bob Robertson, while he's still with us.

Bob's getting up there in age, but that could be a factor choosing Bledsoe over BobRob. Plus, GameDay (and the USA) most likely does not really know who Bob Robertson, especially when he was in his hay-day.

I love BobRob. All these years he was nothing but supportive and caring about WSU through the ups and downs he never wavered in his professionalism and love of the University and team.

We've got a Murrow building on campus named after Keith Jackson, BUT....someday, there shall be and will be a statue in front of Cougar Stadium (Martin, sorry), a bronze larger-than-life statue of the great Bob Robertson.

Actually having Moos on site was said in jest, and was just making a point that he and Prez Floyd made a decision to make WSU football relevant again. It cost money, but it was also necessary.

The esteemed members of the $600,000 Club disagree.

Nobody's mentioned Mike Price. I suspect his schedule is clear.

but I like Gleason, or Bledsoe. Leaf would be in the mix, but I doubt ESPN will invite the competition.

Price isn’t really a celebrity outside Coug nation. I love price but he doesn’t qualify.

I don't know whether to be proud, happy, disappointed, or bewildered that the image of Wulff picking his nose hasn't made its way into this thread yet.

One of the biggest events to come to Pullman and we (collective we) bring up a coach and a period that I am sure administration views in rear view mirror . Funny and sad in the same moment.

Yet you're still obsessing over V. Lane Rawlins...

Trying to defend a 9-40 coach for years and acting like an asshat while we rebuild the program to these heights wasn’t funny. It wasn’t sad.

It was the epitome of loser mentality and pathetic.

You're not going to get away with positioning me like that, Ed. It's just a tailor-made opportunity for a joke. Nothing more.

I was very careful what I wrote . I didn’t say you nor did I position you in any way

OK, cool. My allusions to "proud" and "happy" were in relation to it being great that Wulff hadn't been mentioned here, while "disappointed" and "bewildered," while different concepts, related to this really being the best imaginable time to use that image to make a joke, should one choose. Amazing levels of irony, a thread about a "picker" .... this stuff writes itself. More generally, the further we get from pissing matches about Wulff, the better, and I grant that I should have just let that nice opportunity for the joke go by without mention, given the likely reaction on here.

Nah, you’re fine—we should be able to joke about it, and the fact is it was being used 100% in jest until Ed went and made it serious.

Sorry Loyal... this thread is now destined to suffer a long and protracted death like so many others on this forum.

Only if you let it (or cause it). Let's ignore that sojourn ... back to the topic at hand. A couple points:

1. It has to be someone well-known nationally. Papa Throw, Mike Price, and the like don't cut it. Think more like Klay, Gleason, Bledsoe, and the like.
2. Having Paul Allen do it would be pretty great. Just getting in touch with him to inquire if he'd be willing to do it, thereby emphasizing his status as a Coug (and well-known one) to him, would make sense in any event.

Worth a shot, but does WSU get to choose?

Also, I know who Wulff is, but who's this Ed guy you all keep bringing up?

poster CougEd who for the last 7 years along with his brother on here has been an obnoxious Wulff loving Leach hating detractor.

Basically they ranted from day 1 that Leach wasn’t going to get it done, post passive aggressive digs about the program when we lost said that we had nobody like “the great Laurenzi” on the defensive line and have been saying we have no d line for 7 years. Said we would have nobody to replace Buchanan when Luani committed, threw dirt on Taylor Comfort, made ridiculous claims like, false notions, and pathetic analysis that were proven wrong over and over and over again, they did everything in the world to talk bad about the program and Leach and our direction and everything they could to exonerate and glorify Paul Wulff....for seven...years..

They basically were the epitome of crappy idiotic fans who never bought in.

They are essentially Paul Wulff fans and not Coug fans.

I have a dry sense of humor that doesn't always translate well on the internet.

Was thinking General Mattis (think big people), but remembered he went to Central... Ugh

You gotta think "famous outside of Pullman" guys.

Like Rueben Mayes and Mike Price are great Cougs, but who are they nationally? "Oh yea, I remember Rueben Mayes. Didn't he play for the Saints or maybe the Falcons? I didn't know he went to WSU.". Or, "Oh yea, Mike Price. Didn't he bang a stripper at Alabama or something?".

It has to be Klay, Gleason, Leaf or Bledsoe. Anyone else is just kind of a non story from a national perspective.

It will be Bledsoe, makes the most sense.

Klay would be difficult, being he has to be there around 7am - 8am area,; after a game Friday night. It would be tiring.
I do not think Klay would even want to do it either. After all these years, he still does not like the media, nor any kind of limelight. This kind of appearance is not his thing.
recognize, they have to work at being on Eastern time. EASTERN. So 4 am here... equates to... yup... 7am eastern. It's going to be early and dark.

He doesn’t have to arrive on site until around 8:15, and the picker takes a Wheels Up charter flight. Assuming the charter can land at PUW (and I see no reason it can’t), Klay can take off around 6:00 am and arrive with time to spare.

I haven't watched Gameday in years. But that just doesn't seem logistically possible. Gameday is 6am to 9am. But it's tape delayed for the West Coast, isn't it? Meaning it starts at 6am EASTERN. Meaning 3am WEST COAST. Ends at 6am West coast. Am I missing something?

GameDay is live. It starts at 6a PT/9a ET every week. So usually the West Coast starts are dark at the beginning if it's closer to the end of the year.

Alrighty. I'll trust ya'll since it's been so long for me. Makes sense if they stay 9am East Coast for air.
