Geezus, its not that hard to understand.
Its not in November.
We no longer get an opportunity to play spoiler.
We are a cupcake/ speed bump on their way to a CFP berth.
Even if we're good and they are not, it has no weight as far as season out comes because a) its early and b) its non-con.
This game has lost all meaning and value that it previously had, save we might make a couple of bucks from TV revenue for being a P4 bodybag game.
Why devalue the Apple Cup by naming this new matchup the same thing when its not even close? Hell, UW hasn't considered us a rival for 20 years - its been Oregon.
Traveling 5 hours on a bus (or pissing money away by flying) to get to a Home game in Satan's backyard is as Ludacris as Speeding through the galaxy in SpaceballsOk, while I don't like it any better than anyone else, WSU had had (and still has) ample time to make it a 50/50 stadium. Hell our 50% "allotment is more than Martin Stadium holds. Think on that.
And the series got turned on it's head into a Lumen game, then home and home for the next 4. So 3 for 2 if you want to consider Lumen a home game for the mutts. Would be interesting to know what the financial split is for those home and homes, since muttville holds twice as many fans as Martin.
To the previous post, the series has been 3-12 since Husky Killer graduated. Hard to believe we went 3-1 in the 4 prior years. 4-1 if you count Wulff's first year (part of the 3-12).
Historic because they haven't been put on probation yet. That is indeed history making.By Friday you’ll be able to get tix for $30. My Husky brother bought his for like $150 right when they came out. Apparently he didn’t notice all the empty seats in Husky stadium even during the midst of a historic season.
Opinions vary.... . Some would just say you act like a spoiled child. The Pac-12 doesn't really exist either. Sure, there is a non-profit corporation that still exists. But the league is gone.
Am I a crybaby?
Not if they drop 8. Although $5 sez they line up in a 3-man line but blitz a LB or 2 in to stuff his runs.UW has a much better D than TT and PSU so it will be interesting to see what Mateer can do against them. I think he is going have to stay in the pocket more and be patient. This is going to be a tough early season game.

As if we wouldn't have done the exact same thing to UW if we had the opportunity to join the B!G without them.

Think on that.If we will have gone undefeated this year vs. having 1 loss to the soul sucking ass sniffers... I can tell you where to stick the "having our home game at their house".
And if ANYONE thinks this upcoming game isn't a home game for fuw... start wearing 5 layers of covid masks with 8 virus shots per year while standing 6ft apart.
THIS
GAME
IS
DUMB
Useless sports trivia stat, like Kenny Stabler playing football for the Spokane Shockers. Who lays awake at night searching completion stats for new teams?Apparently he set a new NFL record - the highest completion percentage by a losing QB in their first game with a team.
Why anyone is tracking that stat is beyond me...
Apparently he set a new NFL record - the highest completion percentage by a losing QB in their first game with a team.Game wasn't on TV for me, but I did watch the highlights (below). Not a bad game overall. 25-33 for 257 yards. His fumble was quite the bumble, looked like he thought he had a receiver in the flat and lost it as he pulled back. His int late was deflected, so not really his fault. And down by 12 with 1:50-ish left the game was pretty much lost. Raiders coach taking a lot of justified flak for punting on 4th and 1 from LA's 43 down 6 with 7-odd minutes left. Talk about playing not to win. LA went on a long TD drive subsequently to pretty much seal the game.
Tough game 2 away against the Ravens who lost a close on in KC on Week 1.
There's always someone. My section specifically. There was one grumpy asshole with his daughters and their bitchy attitudes were rubbing off on others. Probably an outlier but strikes a nerve with me. I don’t know many Cougs who are fun police pricks.
I don't think it will be as different as some may expect, but that's mostly because WSU recruiting was near the bottom of the Pac-12 anyway, and was more like G of 5 level with a bad head coach. There is still a massive difference from lower-end but still legitimate power conference level to average G of 5 level. It isn't like WSU could expect to be a dominant program in the MWC or to easily outrecruit the top programs in that conference over time simply due to trying to beat out cities that aren't backwaters, and in some cases are pretty enticing (e.g., San Diego, Vegas), with Pullman. Couple that with the portal and unfettered transfers with NIL money largely powering it and you can expect to see a lot of UW games shaping up as top-15 talent vs. top-65 talent in a G of 5 or similar scenario for WSU. Does this differ that much from top-15 vs. top-45? Depends on how much you like winning 1 out of 8 instead of 1 out of 3. The past decade has pretty much been like that anyway, as we all are well aware.I don't see the talent difference between UW and WSU moving forward becoming any different than it's been the past 50 years. They've always held massive advantages over us. They've won 70% of the Apple Cups. Last year they were in the National Championship game and proceeded to lose over 30 players and their head coach to the portal/greener pastures. That threat will always be there for them because they play in Seattle. They're not a blue blood. Good coaches will leave them. Good players will leave them.
We would be fools to walk away from the Apple Cup.
I wouldn't refer to it as the rivalry's former name anymore. That went by the wayside when they left the conference and tradition behind.I don't see the talent difference between UW and WSU moving forward becoming any different than it's been the past 50 years.
