WHERE ARE THESE FCKING SHIT ADVERTISING SHIT BOTS, SHIT ADVERTISING SPAMMERS THAT WONT FCKING STOP THIS SHIT, WONT FCKING LEAVE, HOW STOP, GET RID OF

Only way I can think of is to bump older threads, create enough new threads to where that shit, spam gets buried, and to not bump, reply to those Aholes, Jerks, etc, so that their BS is not bumped up.

I tried to get them to stop, but since that no work, time to bury their shit, combined with blocking, ignoring them, etc.

New political thread - Biden vs Trump (only!)

Goddamit I had a prior commitment and missed the Biden interview. Will have to catch it Sunday or whatever. The post-interview spin doctors annoy me.

So how about we reset, and limit the argument to 2024 and beyond, Biden (or replacement) vs. Trump. What happens after Nov. 5th?

Biden first. I think that the Democrats are idiots to be floating all the talk of him backing out. Who is going to beat Trump? Kamala? some other ringer? NO. Stupid f-ers. So if he is re-elected, I see a potential for 4 years of stable, educated, semi-coherent governance and foreign policy. And really hope that the Dems can reset, shut up the left-wingers, and work with the R's on addressing the problems we face. Immigration. China. Ukraine, etc. Could it be moving back to the Reagan/Tip O'Neill days? or the Clinton/Newt (or whoever) days? Where we actually got something done via compromise? Geezus. If I could wave my magic wand, Biden would dump Kamala for one of several other potential VP's, win the election, then feign a physical trauma a year or two in and hand it over.

Trump. It is just so frightening. 4 years of revenge and retribution. Hate, hate, hate. Lies, lies, lies. Think back to the (real or perceived) Putin pacifying. The theatrical stepping into North Korea. Ill-advised China tariffs. Lowering or continuing tax cuts for the rich. More rocketing deficit. Women's rights further butchered. Abandoning Ukraine and by extension Europe.

China in specific pisses me off. I think we should just embargo those F-ers and throw their disgusting, pollution and human rights violating filled economy into the toilet. I've always been sort of an isolationist. F-it. Hunker down and see how they do when we quit importing their crap.

Immigration. The one issue I would side with Trump over. I think Biden's late but significant changes are a good thing and are working. Fine, let's get legislation to strengthen it. Trump's draconian approach? Well, sometimes the pendulum has to swing the other way.

Bizarro world thread

6PM on various stations. I for one will be glued to the set. This is historic and very important, although most of America probably doesn't even know it is happening.

Are y'all going to watch it? Key for Biden IMHO is to stay coherent, avoid his frozen stance, and try to needle the shit out of Trump, call out his lies as such, and get him all pissed off and ranting. Don't get mad or stoop to his level? Trump? I think we know what we will get. $5 sez muted mikes or not he will keep on blathering.

OT POLITICAL THREAD(Jan 6 riots, etc)

Please put political post comments, in this thread or another, some other similar thread, and please stop ruining good football threads.

That said I understand, get responding to those political comments in those other football threads.

There is a big problem with both democrats and republicans, libtards and conservatives over the Jan 6 riots.

The repubs are being stupid, and wrongly defending, justifying the riots, saying it didn't happen, etc.

Example a otherwise smart, intelligent, retired Dam Engineer, that is conservative, usually sides with the Republicans, continues to stubbornly, illogically, wrongly say, etc, that the Election was stolen, that there was fraud, that there wasnt a riot, that it was only protesters, etc, despite all the judges, supreme court judges, some of which are CONSERVATIVE leaning judges, have proven, showed that there wasn't enough fraud, etc, to change the result of the election.

Also there is direct video proof that I have seen of rioters(Proud boys, etc), with bats and chains, knives, first, etc, (no guns), that broke into the capitol building, with streams of rioters pouring into the capitol grounds.

Another video showed protestors roaming the halls, saying things like let's get Pence, Nancy Pelosi, etc.

These, those rioters also we're belligerent, unruly, looked violent, out of control, had their fist, bats, chains, knives, clubs, sticks, flagpoles, boxes, whatever they could use as a weapon(Again no guns), as a mob looking hellbent on finding Pence, Pelosi, to stop the certification of the election results.

These were not just people just visiting or casually, peacefully, properly protesting, etc

And now the news that one of them has been convicted.

Now for the libtard Democrats.

They continue to call it a insurrection. But while it may or not not be a technical insurrection of sorts, it was the dumb, stupid part of Trump's base that due to Trump's FIERY Rhetoric, were ultimate convinced, believed that the election had, was being stolen, a fraud, and that by golly they were going to be PATRIOTS that would put a stop to it, and save the country.

THEY WERE WRONG, BAD, ETC. BUT THEIR INTENTIONS, OR RATHER THEIR MOTIVATIONS, were right, but MISLED, MISGUIDED, etc, by others, trump, and their own STUPIDITY, GULLIBLENESS, etc.

Also the libtards want to point to the Jan 6 riots, while double standardly defending the nationwide Floyd riots, that burned, destroyed, hurt, killed LOTS of people, and the burning, destruction of ICE building, and other federal buildings like courts, etc, by Antifa, and BLM, and the Ferguson, and the many other similar riots, that burned, destroyed whole parts of cities to ground, and hurt, killed LOTS more people then the Jan 6 riots.

And the repubs wrongly defend the Jan 6 riots, while pointing to, attacking the Floyd, Ferguson riots, the burning, destruction of ICE building, etc.

BOTH the Republicans, conservatives, libtard Democrats, BOTH, are HYPOCRITES, are wrong, etc.

ALL RIOTS WHETHER THE FLOYD RIOTS OR WHETHER THE JAN 6 RIOTS ARE BAD, EVIL, WRONG, ETC, PERIOD, NO ANDS, IFS, BUTS, PERIOD, TRUTH, FACT, PERIOD.

And BOTH are pissing me off, and I am TIRED, FED UP with it, them BOTH.

At least my conservative, Engineer friend has FINALLY AT LEAST acknowledged that you have to go by burden of proof, evidence, proof, and that it has NOT been PROVEN that the election was supposedly stolen, fraudulent, etc, and that have to go by what can be, is proven, evidence of, etc.

Also this same friend of mine also defends Putin, thinks Putin is wrongly mischaracterized(kind of like how Trump said many of them good people, but got his words twisted by media into, as racism, etc)

He doesn't think that Putin is like Hitler, Mao, Polpot, Saddam Hussein, Slobodan Milosivec, etc.

While he says that Putin invaded Ukraine, he blames Biden, Obama, etc, and says its indirectly Biden's, Obama's fault not Putin's fault, and that Putin had semi valid reasons, wrong or right, right or wrong, misguided, etc, for why Putin did what he did.

He also said it's the Russian Generals advising, leading, almost forcing Putin to do what he did, is doing.

But at least he supports Ukraine, and hopes Ukraine wins, beats Russia, Putin, etc.

I also told him not to talk like that around any Ukrainians.

If I was Ukrainian I might deck my friend, or stop being a friend to him.

He is a nice, kind guy, that does a lot of nice, kind things, but he is horribly misled, misguided, wrong, etc.

I'm just sick and tired of BOTH the libtard Democrats, and the conservative repubs, etc. Sick and Tired of their WRONGNESS, STUPIDITY, HYPOCRISY, DISHONESTY, ETC.

And this is from a semi conservative to semi moderate, constitutionalist, semi republican, semi libertarian, semi independent that voted for trump to prevent criminal HILLARY WHO BELONGS IN JAIL from being president, and who wanted trump to beat Biden until Trump's FIERY Rhetoric caused the Jan 6 riots.

Wells was there...

WSU men’s coach David Riley hopes to avoid a rebuild, but he can if he needs to

PULLMAN — Days before David Riley took the head coaching job at Washington State, before he made the 90-minute drive from Cheney for his introduction on Thursday, his job became exponentially tougher.

That’s because many of the current Cougars, the players who helped the program reach its first NCAA tournament in 16 years, hit the transfer portal. Since their season ended in late March, 10 players have entered the portal, and on Thursday, junior wing Jaylen Wells declared for the NBA draft.

Wells retains the option to return to WSU, as do the other 10 Cougs who have entered the portal. But it’s unlikely that all return, which means Riley will have some work to do: Either convince some of the players to stay — or rebuild the roster in the weeks and months ahead.

“My first goal is to retain,” Riley said. “I want every single one of these guys back. I don’t have some preconceived idea. … These guys are incredible players that mean a lot to this university. If I can retain, there definitely will not be a rebuild. That’s the first piece.”

Can Riley do it? Six WSU players attended Thursday’s news conference, including Wells, senior wing Andrej Jakimovski, freshman center Rueben Chinyelu and walk-on center AJ LeBeau, the last three of whom are in the portal. Also in attendance were freshmen guards Isaiah Watts and Parker Gerrits, both of whom appear to be staying put in Pullman.

That made the absence of a few players noticeable. Star guard Myles Rice was not in attendance, and neither was junior center Oscar Cluff, both of whom are also in the portal. Sophomore wing Kymany Houinsou and senior guard Joseph Yesufu (who missed nearly the whole season with an injury) also were not at the news conference.

They could have missed for any number of reasons — they’re still student-athletes with class schedules — but their absences may have offered a glimpse into the way Riley may have to retool this roster over the offseason. All players in the portal can return to WSU, but even if a majority return, Riley will have to find replacements.

The good news for WSU is that at Eastern Washington, where he spent the past three seasons as head coach, Riley did just that. Back in the offseason of 2021, when Riley took the head job, the Eagles lost all seven of their top scorers, including forward Tanner Groves and guard Kim Aiken Jr., the linchpins on an EWU team that made the NCAA tournament and threatened third-seeded Kansas.

The very next year, guard Steele Venters broke out and EWU finished the regular season three games above .500, making the postseason at The Basketball Classic. The season after that, the Eagles won the first of two straight Big Sky regular-season titles, while Venters took home conference MVP honors and EWU landed two players on the all-conference first team.

All to say: Riley hopes he doesn’t have to rebuild this WSU roster, but if he does, he has experience to draw on.

“Comfortable with the idea of that,” Riley said. “It all starts with development. We had a bunch of guys that were under the radar, that weren’t supposed to be good coming out of high school. It’s kind of the idea of those guys. We had these great players, but the idea of [former EWU player] Tyler Harvey coming in, walking on for two years and in year four, being the leading scorer in the country and getting drafted by the Magic.

“That idea can transfer to all these different players if you work the same way. You have guys here that have the same kind of idea, the same story and the same background. We’ve just got to use that. We’re going to develop. We’re going to work. I want these guys because they’re really good.”

If Riley does have to rebuild in some capacity, he might look at his EWU team, which won the Big Sky regular-season title last season before falling in the conference tournament. Junior wing Casey Jones, a second-team all-conference pick who averaged 13 points and ranked first nationwide in free-throw rate last season, entered the transfer portal on Thursday. Riley said he had not talked to Jones since he entered the portal.

Among other potential candidates to come from EWU to WSU: all-conference first teamer Cedric Coward, a 6-6 guard; second-teamer Ethan Price, a 6-10 forward; and LeJuan Watts, a 6-6 forward who won Big Sky Newcomer of the Year honors last season.

Riley didn’t offer much in the way of whether any of those guys could follow him to WSU. He did say when he took the Washington State job, he called each Eagle individually to thank them for their contributions — “for the opportunity they gave me to come here. It was all them,” Riley said.

“We’ll see where things lie,” Riley added.

He sang much the same tune on the topic of his staff, which he hopes to finalize in the days ahead, he said. He offered no hints on potential candidates, but one of his EWU assistants, Jerry Brown, attended Thursday’s news conference.

On Friday, Riley will head to Phoenix to watch the Final Four, he said. He hopes to complete his coaching staff then.

Pac-2 Media Day ~ tonight from the Bellagio...

5:30pm tonight. No live feed, so we'll have to catch it on YouTube...

WSU Football: Jake Dickert and company to join OSU in Vegas for one-of-a-kind Pac-12 Media Day

Brock Craven SWX Local Sports Digital DirectorJul 10, 2024
LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Football season is right around the corner, bringing new beginnings for the two remaining schools in the Pac-12: Washington State and Oregon State.

The Pac-12 Conference is still holding its annual media day in Las Vegas, but with WSU and OSU being the only remaining schools in the conference, it will feel more like a cocktail party than a traditional media day.

With Oregon, UW, USC, and UCLA officially in the Big Ten, Arizona, ASU, Colorado, and Utah in the Big 12, and Stanford and Cal in the ACC, the Pac-12 is calling their media day "After Hours with the Beavs and Cougs," with the theme "Welcome to the Fight: Past, Present & Future."

The event will take place at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday and will still include the usual Q&A session, with both schools focusing on the upcoming football season and discussing the past, present, and future.

Head Coach Jake Dickert will be joined by veteran linebacker Kyle Thornton and second-year WSU wide receiver Kyle Williams. Newly promoted Washington State Athletic Director Anne McCoy will also attend media day, along with former WSU and NFL quarterbacks Ryan Leaf and Jack Thompson.

Thornton will enter his fifth season as a Coug and is coming off his best season yet in the Crimson and Gray. Last year, the 6-foot-1, 222-pound linebacker led the team with 87 total tackles, 35 of which were solo, and added one sack, one pass deflection, and one forced fumble.

Williams, who transferred to WSU last season after spending his first three years at UNLV, enters his second season under Dickert and offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle in 2024. Last year, Williams was tied for second in receptions with 61 and racked up the third-most yards with 842, along with six touchdowns.

The Cougs arrived in Sin City for the cocktail party-style media day on a private charter flight provided by Diane Brelsford, a longtime booster for Washington State.

With the Pac-12 Network no longer in use, the "After Hours with the Beavs and Cougs" media day will not be televised.

Oregon State, Washington State keep bowl ties from Pac-12 deal

No details are provided, so I wouldn't be surprised if this essentially nets out to the Cougs and Beavs being ticketed for the Sun Bowl or LA Bowl, most likely, rather than having to fight for scraps among the bowls that can't fill their slots due to established tie-ins, but even that would be mildly good news. Few want to actually go to the Sun Bowl, but that's probably better than pushing for a 8-4 team to play some AAC team in the Frisco Bowl or some nonsense like that. And who knows, maybe this won't be gamed such that there's a real shot to still play in one of the better ones like the Alamo, Holiday, or Las Vegas Bowls.

Washington State has landed a commitment from Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek safety Kyle Peterson today. He took an official visit with the Cougs last month and also held offers from Arizona State, Kansas, Louisiana, UTEP, UTSA, Tulsa, North Texas, Hawaii and Dartmouth.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound 2025 recruit is the 16th commitment in the class for Jake Dickert and Co.

Memories of print only...PAC-2 Media Day at The Bellagio...

Interesting, as there was no live TV or even a YouTube post...sort of brings back memories of reading the art of print, before the internet arrived....

WSU coaches, players discuss future at scaled-down Pac-12 media day

The Spokesman-Review
LAS VEGAS — Jake Dickert turned around, footsteps echoing in a hallway somewhere inside the Bellagio Hotel and Casino, and greeted the guy he thought for sure he had gotten rid of. Striding his way was Ron Stone Jr., the former Washington State edge rusher who played his sixth and final season last fall for Dickert, and embraced him.

The two men wore bright smiles as they chatted. They talked about Stone, his family, his new opportunity with the Las Vegas Raiders, with whom he signed an undrafted free agent deal this spring. That’s the reason he was in town, after all.

For WSU, Stone’s presence was about the only similarity between Wednesday’s conference media day and the dozens that preceded it. At this event — a scaled-down version that featured WSU and its fellow Pac-12 holdover, Oregon State, in a night dubbed “After hours with the Beavs and Cougs” — the differences stood out like a sore thumb.

For one, there were only two institutions represented, not the usual 12. As each coach and player talked, both on the main stage and in quieter moments off to the side, a few themes kept surfacing.

We’re in the fight.

This is our chance to show who we are.

We’re two proud schools.

Nearly a year after the Pac-12 as we know it collapsed, all but WSU and OSU defecting for other conferences and forcing the Cougars and Beavers to find temporary homes in other leagues, the reality rippled through a ballroom in Las Vegas.

“I mean, it’s a lot of mixed emotions going into my last year,” said WSU wide receiver Kyle Williams, who transferred from UNLV and played his first season in Pullman last season. “But as they always say — just take it one day at a time, and that’s what I am (doing). Just living in the moment, enjoying everything, taking it in and not letting anything past me.”

Across nearly two hours, WSU head coach Jake Dickert and OSU coach Trent Bray took center stage to discuss their schools’ place in the college football landscape. The Cougs’ player representatives, Williams and senior linebacker Kyle Thornton, revisited their paths to WSU and how those experiences shape them today. Highlights of both teams played on TVs flanking the stage and their mascots, Benny and Butch, moseyed around.

If nothing else, it gave the Pac-12 and new commissioner Theresa Gould a chance to pitch why people around the country should still make an effort to invest in the only two schools left in the conference. If things go the conference’s way, there will be more at some point — the only plan Gould would commit to Wednesday was to explore “all options” — but for at least this next year, the Pac-12 will look more like the Pac-2.

The evidence lives on the Cougs’ football schedule for this fall. As part of a scheduling agreement, WSU will play games against nine Mountain West opponents — seven courtesy of the agreement, two from previously contracted meetings — and in September, they’ll play a nonconference game against longtime rival Washington at the Seattle Seahawks’ Lumen Field.

In other words, things aren’t just changing for Washington State. The people involved are beginning to feel the changes, to come to grips with them.

“Honestly, we don’t know, because we haven’t been there,” Thornton said. “So once we get into it, I’ll probably have a better answer, because it’s really hard to imagine — it’s hard to fathom not playing a Pac-12 schedule. So it’ll be interesting to see how it goes. But honestly, we’re such a bought-in team, they’ll play whoever they tell us to play.”

As the night wore on, something else became clear: Both schools might feel excited about the chance to play Mountain West teams, but they’re taking care to avoid treating the games like a cakewalk. Dickert was once Wyoming’s defensive coordinator. Williams played three years at UNLV. They know what it’s like to play these clubs.

Which is why, as Dickert and Co. recounted their upcoming schedule, they tackled about the contests with a certain reverence.

“It’s all about approach — how do you walk into that game, that moment, that stadium?” Dickert said. “Because I’ve been to Fresno. It’s tough to play there. I’ve been to Boise on a Saturday night, tough to play there. Obviously, the Apple Cup in Seattle, it’s gonna be a great environment. Texas Tech at home. What we were able to do, put together this schedule in a really short order, I think was pretty special.”
