NFL, NBA MLB salaries

I just can't get my arms around it. $25, $50 million a year? How the F does that pencil out? I mean F, we have homeless people, we have the federal minimum wage at $7.25 (hello Idaho), but we pay these guys millions and millions of dollars? How the F do they afford it?

I rarely watch MLB, even though I'm an old BB pitcher. Never watch the NBA. Watch pro FB when they get to the playoffs. So where do they get all this money? Baffles me.

Okie State coach: “The Bedlam game is over because Oklahoma chose to leave the Big 12. Period."

Oklahoma is going to the SEC next year, so OkSt coach Mike Gundy ("I'm a man. I'm 40") has decided the series will not continue as a non-conference game.

Is this the best approach by Coach Gundy? Is his long-term objective to convince the Sooners to reverse their decision and come on back to the Big 12?

Just my opinion, but it was a sad day for some fans when the Governor's Trophy (UI-BSU) was cancelled. The same could be said if the Apple Cup and Civil War rivalries went by the wayside like the Bedlam Cup in Oklahoma.

TV ratings for the Women's World Cup

6M+ w/ streaming, w/ Fox averaging 5.2M.

Pac12 also has the most players on the team.

Seems like an opportunity to better monetize women's soccer for the Pac12/NCAA.

Here is a hypothetical: WSU hosting a CFP game @ home

First off, let's say this is going to happen at some point. Win the conference and you are in scenario.

The way I read it is teams that host the first round will be at home, the weekend before Christmas. So the obvious is: you host in Pullman to get the home field advantage.

It'll be interesting to see how this shakes out when teams in northern areas (prone to winter weather) host southern schools. I like it, just like the pros, you play whereever, but you can see the SEC and others not liking it.

SDSU back to Mt. West

Predictably, the MWC took SDSU back. And they’re now “expected” to stay for at least 2 years.

Also read somewhere that there’s now speculation the PAC will stay at 10 teams, because it may provide an advantage in the expanded playoff format, and that even without expansion the new media deal is expected to be similar to the Big 12. Not sure if that’s referring to the total value or to the per school take.

ESPN/Athletic/Yahoo/CBS Sports: Pac-12 media deal in the works

The timetable doesn't appear to be set in stone, but an announcement should come in the "near future" per The Athletic.

"Our 10 schools have been ridiculously patient," a source told ESPN, adding that the league's patience to make a deal has led to more bidders coming to the table. "That patience is about to pay off."

A source also told Yahoo that the talks have "accelerated" recently.

Sounds like Dr. Schulz taking the reins has made a huge difference 🍻
