Looks like a hearing date has been set for 11/4, on Pac 12 control

I assume this is just the beginning, the lawyers in the crowd would know much better than me.

A hearing has been set for Nov. 14 in Oregon State and Washington State’s legal fight with the Pac-12 and its departing members to gain control of the conference and its assets.

The preliminary injunction hearing will be held in Washington Superior Court in Whitman County in front of the same judge who granted a temporary restraining order to the two schools earlier this month.

Judge Gary Libey’s ruling blocked a board of directors meeting with conference Commissioner George Kliavkoff and university leaders from schools that have announced plans to leave the Pac-12 next year.

The latest filing in the case was dated Wednesday.

Still to be determined is exactly who should be allowed to make up conference’s board and vote on business matters that could impact the future of the league.

Oregon State and Washington State contend that eight schools —- Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Utah, Oregon, Washington, Stanford and California — forfeited their right to be on the board when they announced their intentions to join other conferences next year.

Oregon State and Washington State leaders have said they would like to rebuild the Pac-12, take control of its assets — and liabilities — along with its intellectual property. The schools fear the departing members could stand in the way of keeping the Pac-12 alive, possibly even voting to dissolve the conference.

Has anyone seen a better back up at qb

than WSU?

I would be surprised if Ward is here next year . But i like what Mateer has shown so far.

If WSU and OSU don’t get clarity and the players want and need clarity they will be gutted which is a shame .

In a perfect world and fantasy world where NIL won’t come take our players even if we get an invite to a conference, Dickert has good experience coming back at oline, qb, te, wr,Dt , thin at linebacker and a little thin at db.

They have shown the ability to get players via the portal that are productive . Is Pole (jc) a huge down grade from Kingston? I don’t think so.

i think they found a good linebacker in Richardson and they found very good WR’s and not much question they are better than the ones who left.

tOSU disrespected AGAIN!

In the never ending barrage of slights that befall the lowly, downtrodden and maligned Buckeyes coach Ryan Day bravely stands up for his team! I mean, we all know how much tOSU has been picked on over the years by the sports media, having the second most EVER amount of preseason votes since the 50's, and the most total votes since 2000.

Ultimate insult

Oregonian/Oregon Live Pac-12 beat writer Joe Freeman commits the unpardonable sin. Here's a copy and paste of the beginning of his latest "Around the Pac-12" weekly feature:

After an entertaining Saturday filled with marquee matchups and must-see TV, it’s hard to decide where to begin today’s Around the Pac-12.

Do we start with the Oregon Ducks’ dismantling of the Colorado Buffaloes? With Dan Lanning’s pregame verbal undressing of the Deion Sanders hype train?

Do we go with the Washington Cougars’ impressive victory over the Oregon State Beavers in the Abandoned Bowl? Or should we delve into the USC Trojans’ leaky defense — and sloppy win — against lowly Arizona State?

Washington Cougars? God, nothing gets my goat more than this all-too-common mistake. But it's usually done by media folks "back east", not the Pac-12 beat writer from a Pacific NW major media outlet. I've written to Joe, so maybe this gets "corrected", but that's a mistake that should never happen. Especially after the UW and others screwed us and OSU over.

I'm sure glad we beat the Oregon Beavers.
